Babylon/Lindenhurst ladies - Where do you buy your meat? Stop and Shop no long cuts meat in the store!
I just came from Stop and Shop and was looking for a fresh roast and all they now have are these gross, cryovaced roasts. I asked one of the guys working in the meat department and they said they no long cut meat in the store and from now everything will be in the cryovac packages.
The meat looked slimly and gray in the plastic.
I went to Tony's meat palace but a teeney (and I mean really, really small) roast was $22.00!!!!
I am so annoyed! We need a Wegmans or Harris Teeter or some nice grocery store in the area. Its ridiculous!
Where do you find nice cuts of meat in the area?

Farmingdale Meat Market - we travel to get meat there. They supply a lot of high end restaurants in the area too....like the George Martin chain.

Which S&S? The one in Amityville still cuts meat! And Tony's has great stuff but it's the same stuff you get at S&S!

They are all phasing it out  (as per a friend who works for S&S)
I usually buy at BJs or Best Yet. I've heard people rave about Fratelli's (I think that's the name) which is on Montauk Hwy in Copiague

Do you live by a Guinta's meat market? I use the one in Farmingdale for meat and produce -- great quality, great prices. I know they have several locations. Check out their website -- they post their sale circular every week!
