Back from my 37 week appointment & pretty upset * Updated to say Thank You
I was so excited for this baby to be "fully cooked" this morning.. and it turns out, hes really not. I was unprepared for a bad appointment considering everything has been perfect so far so I am just really upset & could use some hugs and prayers.
First - I tested positive for Streb B.. no big deal I know but basically I cant labor at home like I wanted to. That I can get over
Second - The baby was still only 5lbs 14 ounces. He should have gained triple of what he did since 34 weeks  They are worried my placenta is cr@pping out on me and he may need to come early
Third- I was monitored for a while and apparently have contractions. She said she would be surprised if I made it to December, but now its our goal to make me go as long as I can. I know I was hoping he came early but once I heard this and I know how little he is, I was terrified.
I have more tests on Friday & Monday. All in all the Dr. said he was moving around great and sounded strong so thats a plus. I am just scared now and don't know what to think. I know everything will be ok and one day I will look back on this and laugh at being so nervous but if you can please spare some prayers I would really appreciate it

what is step b?
maybe he is bigger than they think i hear that a lot. how much did he weigh at 34 weeks? is there anything you can do to get his weight up?
try not to worry - he will be a healthy baby

at 34 weeks he was 5lb 7 ounces

I'm sorry.... :( Did they say that if you ate more or perhaps different types of foods, you could help the baby put on the weight? Like maybe shakes or something?
I know it's scary when you're not anticipating this type of news....are you on bed rest at all now?

i was going to suggest the shakes - my mom had to drink them with one of my sisters they were yummy

I'm sure the doctor will monitor you closely and everything will be ok! If he has to come early at least he will be about 6 pounds, which is a decent weight!

Awwww mama! I'm sorry about the strep b. I worry about this too but in reality its not really a big deal. As for the little guys weight they may be off and he might actually be bigger then they are saying. Even if he's tiny I'm sure he will still be a healthy little nugget! My friend Jaimes daughter was 6lbs when she was born and you saw her at my shower and she is perfect! Please try not to stress or worry. Call me if you need anything!

I dont know. We talked about what I ate and she said I def. eat enough. I really do eat ALOT. She said to keep up with what I am doing but basically they just think hes not getting what he needs from my placenta.. so no matter how much I take in it might not make a difference. I was a very small baby so Im not too concered about his weight, I am just nervous what the next few weeks will bring. Nervous about the strep B... nervous about the cramps I have been feeling.. now I will question every single one.. that kind of thing. OK im done whining

Im sorry!!! Try not to worry. The weight is always a guesstimate. They really dont know. Im sure your baby is perfectly healthy!! At 28 weeks my Dr told me my baby was measuring 3lbs 7 oz. (and I was freaked cause it was so big) then that same week I went to have a sono at the hospital and the Dr told me my baby was weighing in at 2lbs. 14 oz.....a huge difference. So like I said they are never 100%. Everything will happen the way its supposed to and you will do great when its his time to come out!!!

I am sorry you didn't have a good appointment.
I was 6 weeks early as well and I weighed over 5 lbs possibly 6 lbs. I can't remember but the doctors were worried about my weight and thought I was going to be really tiny. They didn't think I would even be 5lbs. When they took me out they announced it was a girl and said look at the size of her.
I am sure you LO will be fine weight size even if you had to deliver now. Things have come a long way.

I guess you never know what can happen at these weekly appts! Well the strep B isn't harmful now that you know about it so that's good. I'm sure you are still bummed but it's good to know that.
At least your doctor is on top of things and will be monitoring you and your baby. You both will be perfectly fine and healthy. It's better to be prepared!
I hope you next appt goes better!

Sorry your appointment didn't go as well as you were expecting it to.
I would try to focus on the fact that he's strong, I think that's more important than the actual number he's weighing in at. I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers for you.

Yeah I was hoping they were off by the weight! I will find out friday.. I am going to a different office for more testing/ monitoring and I think they have better (more up to date) sono machines. Not sure if that makes a difference
Again, im not even really worried about the weight. More about the unknown, the strep B and the contractions. Oh and my water breaking at work! lol
My dr. didnt even check my cervix (they dont usually until 39 weeks) but she said his head was so low and with the contractions she didnt want to stir anything up.. OY!. I might be a november mommy  we shall see
