Re: Back from Wal*Mart..
Actually I usually boycott Walmart because it is very bad for my business...and they won't let the workers unionize..and they have put so many small business owners out of business....for other political and social reasons...but I finally broke down yesterday and went in. I bought some curtains -- and when I got home - they turned out to be the cheeziest of the cheeziest -- way worse than anything trampy!

Re: Back from Wal*Mart..
I stopped shopping there. I haven't been there in about a year. But I did use to buy cards, cleaning supplies and maybe name brands like 'gerber' for baby stuff / gifts or a cd or a piece of disposable clothing...but I will say that the SUPER walmart that has the food is great, cheap, and good stuff. I would visit the one in Pennslyvania...
otherwise Target, but Target has been dissapointing me too lately...

Re: Back from Wal*Mart..
I love WalMart. I go when I visit the Poconos. Sometimes there are some questionable people there, but I think that has more to do with the locations of the stores. Let's face is, people who live on Madison Avenue don't go to WalMart, I'm pretty sure.

I won't shop there either, for the same reasons.
Plus, I love Target.

Why does Wal-mart have such a bad rep when it comes to the people who shop there? In Virginia Wal-mart is awesome. They have a uper store where it's the supermarker on one side & the regualr Wal-Mart on the other end.
Oh yeah when we go to VA we love their Walmarts!!! I wish the ones here were the same!

I boycotted for a while also after an article i read about them...
No Unions, How they really hurt mom-and-pop stores... Based on their sales, they contribute a much lesser about to charity that most smaller businesses do, etc.
However, living in a rural area of virginia made boycotting VERY hard.
Wal-marting is a saturday activity!.
"What are you doing this weekend?"
"Oh, ya know, Wal-Marting"
And I don't see people dressing up here... I don't think the "No shirt, no shoes, no service" rule applies
