Back pain/issues
Wasn't sure which board to post this on. I am beginning to think about a 2nd DC. My DS just turned 3. I had so many health issues myself that I couldn't even think about another pregnancy until now. No doctor seems to be able to give me a good answer about this so thought I would seek opinions from other women.
I ended up (somehow- can't pin point the actual trigger and not sure if issue existed prior to pregnancy but it's possible) with herniated discs in my lumbar spine. I was in pretty bad pain for awhile, but with PT and time and exercise it's got better. Went to a few different back doctors and decided against epidural shot for pain since I was responding to the physical therapy. Right now I am just trying to get as strong as I can. Prior to pregnancy, I ran, lifted weights, etc. Now I'm so careful as to not hurt myself again, but I know exercise is the best thing.
Question is if you had back pain or other back issues, did it affect you during a 2nd pregnancy? I'm just so nervous another pregnancy will really mess with my body.

Re: Back pain/issues
Yes. My issues started when I was pregnant with my 1st DD. I had terrible back pain and sciatica. I could barely walk! I saw a chiropractor after seeing many other doctors and doing PT and it was a game changer for me. I was tired of taking medication and scared to when I was pregnant. Physical therapy didn't help much either. I saw a chiropractor who specialized in pregnancy and pediatrics. She adjusted my spine very gently, did massage, stretched me and gave me exercises to do at home. I saw her during my entire 2nd pregnancy and had no issues with back pain. I still go to see her and I take my girls too.

I also highly recommend a chiro. I crawled in and skipped out. The relief was amazing I truly believe in chiropractic care. It has been a game changer for me.
