Bad cold, goopy eyes question

So I have created many posts in the last day saying that DS has a bad cold. He is so congested that goopy yellow stuff is coming out of his eyes (sorry TMI).

My question is, what else can I do about it besides chase DS with a tissue or wet rag to wipe it away?

He is now so against me getting anywhere near his face that I can't get to the stuff fast enough.

Poor little guy took a nap before and woke up with eyes stuck shut. If anyone has any tricks, I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise, my poor baby is a sloppy mess of runny nose and goopy eyes. *sigh*

it wouldn't be uncommon for eyes to get goopy with a cold. However, when you say they're stuck shut just be careful because that might be pink eye. I'd call the doc tomorrow if it doesn't get better and they'll prescribe drops.

Here's what you do for now. Take a wet soft cloth or cotton ball. With his eye close start from the outside and wipe inward. When you get to the inner eye near his nose make little circle motions. This will help clear the duct. Repeat as necessary.
