Bad day at daycare!
Yesterday I was just telling DH how happy I was with DD's daycare...well, I jinxed it. Today, I go to pick up DD and the teacher tells me that I gave her 5 bottles today and shows me them all. (2 full, 3 empty). She typically drinks 3 a day but I send a fourth in case she is extra hungry. DD is EBF. I look closely and realize DD was given someone else's bottle and it was formula. It was in the same type of bottle so it was a mistake. It was given while the main teacher was at lunch so someone else did it. The main teacher who was the only one there apologized a million time. I was annoyed but I let it go since I know one bottle of formula won't hurt her. Well, I was wrong. I get DD home and she has red splotches all over her and her entire back is red and warm (looks like she has a sunburn). So, I call DC and the director is already gone but I made whoever answer call the parents of the other child to find out what formula it was. Then I had to call the Ped who suggested Benadryl but of course I have none and DH is out of town so I have to take DD out to CVS to get it. DD doesn't seem to be bothered by it but it just pisses me off. Oh and then, when I lift up her bib, I realized her drool soaked through to her onesie and she was sitting in a soaking wet onesie for I dont' know how long. She already has a rash under her chin from the droll, and now it is worse. I will definitely be talking to the director on Monday.

Oh no!! Are your bottles labeled with her name? If not, I would get some bright colored labels so this doesn't happen again!

Re: Bad day at daycare!
they are labelled but both DD's and the other child's are just labelled with a black sharpie. Both also have first names that start with an R. I have to now order colorful sticker labels!

www.stuckonyou.biz ones are awesome. Cute designs and they stay put! When you are done with bottles, they peel off and will stick again onto the cups. LOVE them!

Re: Bad day at daycare!
maybe lable the LIDS of the bottles too.
My DS and another child at his daycare use the same and IMO it is easiest to see which one is which when they are also labeled on the lids as well
Each kid has their own area in the fridge for their bottles that are color coded. But when you look in and pick a bottle out you see the lid first.
Just an added idea

Re: Bad day at daycare!
I'm sorry that happened
But I agree with Jules, label the cap on the bottle as well. My daycare insists on that. Also, my daycare has a little basket type thing in the fridge and each childs is labeled and the parents put the bottles/sippys/food in the basket in the morning so the teachers just take when the baby is hungry. Maybe suggest that?

Re: Bad day at daycare!
Thanks everyone! I am defiitely going to use your great suggestions. DD is doing fine this morning. The benadryl seems to have done its job (and she fell asleep while I was feeding her last night at 7:30 and didn't wake up until 6:30 this morning ).
