lauren and I were discussing this yesterday(we have the same Dr) the crazy things these Dr's say. heres mine:
After HSG
Me: So we are not supposed to try this month?
Dr. No it would make it harder for me to complete your testing if you did get PG
me:Ok (thinking in my head, Oh harder for you...sorry my miscarriages haven't been hard on me at all, especially since I couldn't try last month either because of your "bankers hours")
A different Dr during my 1st m/c
me: Hi dr I am bleeding
Dr: Where are you
Me: in the city training for a job
Dr Well you should be home in bed! Whats wrong with you.

I had similar situation with Hershlag, just as he was about to insert the speculum whilst doing our (5th or 6th?) IUI he say's "I don't know why you are bothering to do this, why don't you just go straight to IVF" Mmmmmm, thanks for that!

Acct. Person - Hi, it's nice to meet you - You have to pay upfront - that is $12,000 - will that be with a credit card?
Dr. - I would NEVER recommend SIRM!

This was said not by my regular doctor but the doctor I see when she is not available:
Dr.- Your body is very stubborn but thats ok, I like a challenge.
Dr.-Ok, everything looks really good
Me: Oh, are there follies?
Dr: OH no its way too early for that.
Me thinking to myself: Why would you tell me everything looks great if there were no follies?

after waiting 3 hours for an IUI (which last 2 minutes) and finding me crying....
the comforting words...
"I usually tell my patients to take off a half day of work for IUI"

Well, that seems to be a standard response for Dr. Hershlag. I swear I wanted to take my foot out of the stirrup and kick him in the head

I have had a few
"We really cannot continue to see you unless IVF is in your future, you must be able to take a loan out or something?" ( a place that gave me 8 IUIS without an HSG)
After HSG" Wow, you havent gotten PG since your cervical surgery have you?"
Me- "NO"
Dr" Well no wonder, no sperm could ever find its way its there looking like that"
Um ok...LOL
And whats funny is I LOVE Dr. Hershlag. He was always so sweet and hugged me etc ( but I think, well I was doing IVF...LMAO...Maybe hes an IVF nut)

My favorite was Dr. SanRoman when we had our consultation.
After looking at our history and talking to us for ten whole minutes.
"This is going to be so easy, we are going to have you pregnant in no time at all"
It's now two years later and a totally different RE

These were just strange comments...
At my first consult the dr was asking about history, drugs, alcohol etc. and he said "Oh, you don't smoke crack? I guess that makes sense because women who do seem to get pregnant pretty easily."
I was at a loss for words.
Then, another time I was with my husband and a different dr wanted him to have another semen analysis. DH asked if he would get a cup from this office, or from the lab. The dr. interrupted and made a joke about it not being a good idea about brining in the sample with his hands -- messy and not very sanitary.
Again, I was at a loss for words.

Okay, this just happened on Friday -- MELIJANE pay attention!!
So, my doctor had me on Gonal-F injections. I started at a very low dose, 75, to start because he said women with PCOS tend to hyperstim very quickly. Okay, fine. So, I had to get like 57 pens, each with a $15 copay. Then I had to keep going to his office, $36 each time. So, I had a bit of a tiff with my doctor because we were arguing about his office hours, they are horrendous and he is ALWAYS late. So, finally at one point he says to me, "You MUST come in Friday afternoon." I say no problem, I'm there. I was just there that Wednesday and he called me Wednesday night saying this. So, I go in on Friday afternoon. My estrodial is going down, down, down. On Wednesday it peaked at 503 and I had two follies, both a little over 18. When he's doing the sono on Friday he says to me "well, Lauren, I think you ovulated."
UMMM, WHAT??? Yes, I ovulated. And they missed it. umm..all I have to say is:

I was so upset. I wasted about $300 and it was all their fault. He said, well, if you could have come on Thursday we might have had a better chance. Um, you didn't tell me to come on Thursday, you said FRIDAY.
ARRGGHHH!!

OMG OMG OMG Lauren...this guy is an idiot!!! Make him give you som Gonal F from one of the reps for next cycle. I am just sticking with him for the endo biopsy and to see what happens after that. Honestly I don't think theres much better out there! I really haven't had ANY good experiences except for people who go outside their insurance. This is what insurance companies are doing to America!!!
