Bare Minerals Users
Can you please give me the scoop if this stuff really works, and if so, what is it great for and which brand to get. There are so many Bare Minerals, Natural Minerals, etc. make-up out there that I am lost!

I think Bare Minerals is crap. I know there are a lot of people here who use it but I just don't think the quality is all that great.
Look into:
Laura Mercier (best for my skin)
Everyday Minerals (I think they send you free samples)
Pure Minerals

I use it and love it. While i don't really know the differences between the others out there...I do believe it is much better han compressed powder.

i used to use bare minerals and i loved it at first... but i got tired of the "shine" so i switched to Laura Mercier. i wouldn't say BM is crap but definitely would recommend Laura Mercier instead

The shine is what makes me dislike BM so much! I look at photos of me wearing BM and I want to cringe. It's such a terrible finish IME. LM is so natural.

I use it and I like it. I only use the concealer and the foundation, adding the mineral veil feels like too much and I start to feel like cakey, powder face.

i have never used bare minerals because i think it is too expensive. i use physician's formula talc-free powder foundation and i LOVE it. it covers everything.

agreed!!! i've also started buying LM blush, eye shadow, lip gloss.. i'm hooked!

I use Bare Essentials and I love it. I have very sensitive skin and I don't use it every day (When you're as naturally gorgeous as I, you don't need it   j/k)
I really like that I can't even feel it on me and I don't break out. I don't look shiney with it  When applied correctly, it's great! You definately can't use too much and if you have very bad, bumpy skin I don't think it's the best thing to use, but I don't know cause my skin is pretty good, just sometimes blotchy.

I agree. I would try a drugstore brand before you invest in Bare Minerals. Mybelline Mineral Makeup was just rated #1 by Allure magazine.

in cvs.
its so cheap and works great
i give it credt ifor clearing my skin
i switched to the maybelline type and my skin broke out
give it a try- i think bare minerals are pricy compared to the physicians formula

I never have any shine issues with Bare Minerals. My skin is normal to dry, so maybe that's why.
I see no need to switch to another brand since I am very happy with BM

I've tried several types of mineral makeup and just started using BM last week. I absolutely LOVE it. And I've seen such a difference in my skin since I started using it.
