Re: barilla pasta?
Guys, don't fight over this!!! I started the whole thing by saying I ate it and got my BFP without even trying! Then a ton of other people joined me and it worked for lots of others!! I don't work for Barilla...or own stock in it...I just wanted to try to help others! I know what it's like getting the BFN and I want you all to get preggo! If you don't want to try it...don't! I figured it can't hurt share my feelings!
However, it did happen to work for at least 10 people either on these boards or that I personally know. It isn't a 'miracle food' or anything...but for $2 a box, it's worth a try...at least to me!

Why is anyone even debating this? Obviously science or even prenatals doesn't make you get pregnant. Some people want to try it, some don't, who cares. It's kind of like eat this and you'll go into labor. It's pretty much coincidence in both cases.

Re: barilla pasta?
I didn't buy the Barilla plus, but the Barilla whole grains. That's just too good to be true!

Re: barilla pasta?
Just my 2 cents...
I have tried a zillion different gimmicks over the past year thinking *maybe* it will work for me. Where did that get me? Oh just probably about $200 in the hole. I've tried green tea, soy, mucinex, robitussin, fish oil, prenatals, instead cups and a million other useless things. Will they help some people? Maybe. But in my opinion, for some people it just takes time. You only have a 20% chance of getting pregnant each month under optimal conditions. So just because you happened to eat a different type of pasta in month 4 when the odds were in your favor may have nothing to do with getting a BFP. Is it worth trying? Sure, it will get you thinking positively and I think half of this fight is mental so go buy your pasta and have a nice glass of wine and hope the odds are in your favor

I think she was saying congrats and prayers to those who are planning to TTC, who are TTC, and who just got a BFP - not that she just got a bfp.
(But I hope you did!!!! )

Re: barilla pasta?
I just took GNC's Prenatal Vitamin as soon as we decided to TTC. I'm not big into pasta on a regular basis unless it's whole wheat pasta - but even then only here and there.

Re: barilla pasta?
I have to say I agree with those who say eating the pasta is just a coincidence. I am sure that for the number of women who did get a BFP when they ate it, there are are the same amount (or probably more) who ate it and DID NOT get pregnant. How many women out there got pregnant after a night of drunken sex? Yet no one is going out there and saying getting wasted will increase you chances of getting pregnant. So to those who ate the pasta and got PG - congrats. And for those who want to give it a try - I don't see the harm. But I do agree with Leslie in that a post like this could be dangerous to the desperate ones out there who will try anything, only to have a another disappointment after getting a BFN when they ate two tons of Barilla Plus during their fertile days.

Re: barilla pasta?
Posted by maybebaby I agree with this 100%.
I keep reading about this barilla thing, and I am not understanding why people would think it was pasta helping them get pg. I keep biting my tongue over it, but seriously..eating barilla pasta will not help or hurt your chances of pregnancy. We are all rational women....it is your body and timing and biology...not carbs!! Don't mean to rain on anyones parade...for those who got their BFP, congrats to you, it is wonderful news that you SHOULD be celebrating and excited about...but the pasta thing just is getting silly, sorry, JMHO
Well said - as I admit above, I tried it. No luck. When I got pg back in May, I had used vitex and got pg immediately. So I was convinced it was my "magic trick" to getting pg. Now, after my m/c, I am back on the vitex and for two months I have gotten BFNs. So now I believe it was a coincidence - bottom line, when anyone gets a BFP, they will reflect on what might have helped them along. I just truly believe that getting pg involves so much luck, along with ideal body conditions.
