Soon after he could sit on his own. Def by 6 months.
oh wow! DS is 10 months and still uses his little tub. He started standing in it and reach out now. I was holding off cause we all shower in that bathroom and I am dreading having to clean the tub everyday! But I think its time!
We only have one bathroom also. My theory is I can clean out the little tub or quickly spray and rinse our tub. Its the same amount of time.
Plus we don't have tons of storage so for me as soon as I can get rid of something I do.

Re: bath!
9 months she was in the tub in a bath seat. the seat got all rusty, and we never get around to getting another, so by 10 months she was sitting in the tub by herself.
she's a peanut too, but splashes so much, it was the only way to somewhat contain the water.

DD is 18 months and I still have her in a bath ring in the big tub! She has gotten too long for it, and it is getting hard to get her legs through it, but I am so nervous about letting her sit freely in the bath! She doesn't like having her hair washed (the water part), and I think she will be thrashing all over if I let her out of there! I keep telling DH that we need to try a bath without the ring.
Same! So glad I am not the only one. It just makes it easier for me to keep her contained in that thing.

DS was in the duck until after he was 2!! I loved that thing. It saved us so much water.

ok i'm pretty pathetic but DS is 14 months, in the 95th percentile for height and weight, and is still in the infant tub He looks pretty ridiculous in there but se la vi
haha... this makes me feel better though!
my kids are 13 months, 90th % for height and they're in the sink still!!
That is hilarious!

Re: bath!
DD1 was in the sink until 14 months bc we have 1 bathroom and it was under construction for most of her first year. When she started using the tub it was just her, no ring. That worked fine, she'd sit, lay on her belly, play. Now she's "scared" of the bath and refuses to let me bathe her. She would be all over the place standing up, pulling way from me. Id have to hold her arm with one hand, fill the cup with the other while she was trying to kick the cup out of my hand with her foot. This was all while DH was standing over my shoulder telling me how it should be done. He gives her baths now.
DD2 I've been bathing in the tub just on a sponge. My kitchen is freezing and I just don't have the energy to clean my sink before and after the bath. When she outgrows the sponge, ill probably get a bath ring.

LOL my DS is 2 1/2 years old and I still put a plastic tub inside of the big tub! It's so much easier and we all use that same shower so I don't have to worry about scrubbing it down all the time.
me too!!!!!
This was us until a month ago.
DS is 2 1/2 and we were using the inflatable until it sprung a leak. Now he is in the tub.
He was in the blue tub (you know, the double sided one) until 2.

20m.. we had a fancy dancy expensive apt with crappy maintenance. Our guest tub peeled. It was horrible. I wouldn't' let her sit on that! When we moved into our home, we let her have freedom.
