bathroom reno - average cost for labor only
we are the in the process of picking out a contractor. he hasn't given me a price yet because he has to get his plumber to come here and get a price for moving the toilet & sink around.
so what is the average cost for a small bathroom renovation for labor only? we are doing a complete gut. we will pick out the tub, sink, etc on our own.
we haven't had much luck with getting any contractor to even call us back. until our tile guy recommended him. seems pretty reliable so far.... question is will he be when he gets our money
thanks!

Re: bathroom reno - average cost for labor only
We just redid our bathroom. We got a deal on labor because we had another big project to do and promised him that job as well.
We paid $3000 for the labor, and from what my friends tell me, that's about $1000-$2000 cheaper than the norm.
Oh, and we paid him half upfront and the other half when the job was done. You mentioned being worried that the contractor would flake out once you paid him. That's why you don't pay him the full amount until you're satisfied with the work! Good luck with the reno.

OUr bathroom is a good size 8x8, we just did a total gut, no moving of plumbing. The contractor costs we rec'd were from 4-7K. This included things like sheetrock, electrical supplies, spackle etc.
No finishes. We decided to do it ourselves in the end.
