BBQ Side Dishes

Hi ladies,

I am having my first big BBQ this weekend. can you please give me some ideas & recipes for side dishes? Our main meats are going to be grilled chicken and probably skirt steak.

Also if you wanna throw in some foods to put out in the afternoon before dinner, that would be helpful too.

LOVE bbqs!

not sure what your family is into, but I'll post some different things for options!

dinner side dishes:

corn on the cob
potato salad
macaroni salad
baked beans
cornbread
mixed greens salad (maybe with candied walnuts, cranberries, goat cheese, etc)
romaine-based salad
caprese salad (or you can do this on skewers which is adorable.... )
cole slaw
bean salad
broccoli salad or slaw
grilled veggies

appetizers:

shrimp cocktail (roasted shrimp is even better with a fiery dipping sauce)

mango salsa with whole-grain chips

hummus with cucumber, homemade pita chips, tomato wedges (or cherry tomatoes), baby carrots

cheese platter is always yummy

antipasto platter

buffalo wings

you could do a 7-layer mexican dip...

or a crab dip with thin breadsticks

guacamole

Well i am having a BBQ for Fathers Day and here is what i will be doing:

Apps:
Bruschetta
Cheese/sausage platter
Grilled veggies
Sausage on the BBQ


Dinner:
Cucumber/tomatoes/lettuce salad
Pasta
Oven potatoes
Corn
Eggplant Rollatini
Steak
Chicken
Hot Sausage

ETA: I always try to not make to much for Apps so people will actually eat dinner, but day of things always change and either my dad or FIL will bring "something extra" to throw on the grill!
