"Beachy" Restaurant?
I want to take a couple of friends out for their Bdays next week and I think they'd both like to do something "Beachy."
I asked one of them about Paddy McGees and she said she's not a fan, so that's out.
Any other recommendations? I'm coming from Queens, so I don't mind a bit of a drive, but not too much, like no more than 45 minutes or so.
I'd love to go to a place on the water...
Thanks!

I hear great things about Pop's which is across the street from the whole Paddy McGee's thing, but I hear its a long wait so you'd have to go early, but they have the whole sand and palm trees so its very beachy...other wise how about the Nautical Mile in freeport..tons of restaurants on the water!

Oh yum, I haven't been there in forever.
I was also going to recommend Nautical Mile in Freeport but not sure which restaurant to recommend off-hand.

Re: "Beachy" Restaurant?
I liked Pops a lot, doesn't get much beachier bc it has a beach to hang out on! Go early , it does get crowded and the wait for a table can get long.

Peter's Clam Bar in Oceanside!!!
i worked there for a summer a few years ago and ate there once- never again. plus you are basically looking at the landfill.
i would recommend walls wharf in bayville. its literally right on the beach and the food is good.

Re: "Beachy" Restaurant?
Peter's Clam Bar is good but as someone else said, you are looking at a garbage dump - definitely wouldn't consider it "beachy." Pop's is Island Park was fun but loong wait for a table and almost an hour to get our food once we sat at the table. I also felt the food was overpriced.
