Becoming a dog trainer
Does anyone have any idea how to go about doing this? Its something I am interested in doing but have absolutely no idea how to get started.

Re: Becoming a dog trainer
Have you trained other people's dogs before? That would help you bc they can recommend you to potential customers. Just start advertising your services and spread the word.
Good luck!!

I have no advice, but when you become one...I have a completely disobedient bunch of dogs at my house that you can work with! Heck, you can train the hubby too!

Re: Becoming a dog trainer
I am a dog trainer! I just graduated a couple of months ago from Animal Behavior College! The college is based in CA but they mail you everything. It was affordable too. After you finish the book work you meet with a trainer at the local animal shelters for some hands on experience.
Unfortunalty I cannot afford to quit my full time job to "test the waters' with dog training but hopefully one day I will.
FM with any questions

Animal Behavior College In addition, I think I remember hearing about some local professional organizations and practical seminars. Do a google search of orgs, you location, etc and see if you cannot come up with more info.
