bed in nursery?
for BTDT moms, is it practical or does it make sense to leave a full size bed in the nursery? We have the room, I am debating leaving it for rough nights, one of us can just crash in there with . Have any of you left a bed in the nursery? Was it useful? If we won't use it, i'd rather move it to storage
TIA!

Re: bed in nursery?
I have a twin size in the nursey, actually my DD and SD share a room but SD is only with us 4 days a month. So far DH has slept in there wth DD once when i really needed a break and tonight will be the second tme.
Even if the girls didnt share a room i would stll have an extra bed in there but prob just a twin size

Re: bed in nursery?
Since DS's room used to be the guest room, we left the twin bed in there. My Mom slept in it for 2 weeks after he came home. It is still in there. I was sleeping in there up until about a week or so ago. I want to keep it, but there will be no room once we put his crib together. Then we are going to get an arm chair that has a bed in it.

Re: bed in nursery?
I had a queen sized bed in my twin's nursery until this summer when I separated them into two rooms.
It helped a lot in the beginning. For the first two months, I slept in their room and did all of the night feedings in the bed.
Now that we are trying to transition from the crib, I'm glad I got them double beds for those rough nights.

We have a twin size in there. It's definitely helpful on really rough nights. If you have the space, keep it.

Re: bed in nursery?
We did that in DS's room, since we had the space. It was nice, since it allowed the other parent a full night's sleep, without even partially waking up when DS cried over the monitor.

Re: bed in nursery?
YES YES YES! Especially if you're nursing..
We did this with DS#1 and decided that if we had the room to keep the bed in the nursery we would. I'm so thankful we did that and I wish we could have done the same for DS#2...
When we first got home, I would sometimes nurse him lying down in the bed which was a tremendous help because I could rest a little more than just in the rocking chair. Then it evolved into either DH or I sleeping there for a few hours if LO wasn't feeling well or was having a rough night. We could pull DS into that bed with one of us, but never have DS in OUR bed so he wouldn't associate coming into our bedroom with comforting.
Then it later evolved into his 'dressing table' where he would hang out on the full bed while we got him ready in the AMs.
With DS#2's arrival, we had to give away the full bed and replace it with bunk beds -- big difference.
HTH.

Re: bed in nursery?
we have one in there because it was a guest room before. makes a lot of sense if you're nursing.
