Re: Bed Rest After Transfer??
Every doctor has their own protocol. My re did not request me to stay home the next day, however I ended up staying home due to cramping that I got and lack of sleep that evening. No way I could have gone to work and been functional. But so many people feel normal after transfer it seems and move on with life swimmingly.

Re: Bed Rest After Transfer??
I stayed in bed pretty much the rest of the day after both of my transfers. RE gave the green light for work the next day and I was okay - well physically more than mentally

Re: Bed Rest After Transfer??
I am taking off for a week. I have a high-stress job and my insurance is only paying for IVF 1X so I want to do everything possible to help increase the odds. (I know it may seem excessive, but I also want to take the time just to unwind!)

Re: Bed Rest After Transfer??
My Dr. said it wasn't necessary. She said "they're in there and not going anywhere".

Re: Bed Rest After Transfer??
I was told to take it easy that day - they called it Princess Protocol. My transfer was on a Friday, so I took it easy all weekend. Worked for me.
My friend who was successful on her 4th IVF attempt (all fresh transfers) swears that it worked the last time because she didn't stress. She and her DH went away for the weekend and walked around Virginia Beach that afternoon. She had twins in June.

Re: Bed Rest After Transfer??
Due the high stress level at my job plus long hours and commute, I am taking off from the ER until through a week or so later and plan on spending the day of transfer and the next either in bed on my left side or laying on the couch.

Re: Bed Rest After Transfer??
My RE recommended taking it easy the day of transfer and resuming normal activity the next day. I did that for my first IVF cycle (they transferred 2) and got a BFN.
My 2nd cycle (FET) I put myself on strict bedrest for 2 days (only getting up to go to the bathroom, DH brought me food & drinks) and did acupuncture immediately following transfer and I got my BFP with . I also took it easy the entire week until I got my BFP on the HPT. I think the bedrest really makes a huge difference.

Thanks, ladies!!! It sounds like a good idea to stay in bed for 2 days. Just gotta figure out a way to tell my boss...

Re: Bed Rest After Transfer??
My RE said to take it easy and stay off my feet the day OF the transfer after I got home. He said I could go to work the next day.
My husband on the other hand, put me on bedrest for 3 days...

Re: Bed Rest After Transfer??
My transfer was on a Thurs and I commuted on the train right after my transfer and than relaxed the rest of the night. The next day- Friday I was back and work and had people over that night as I was hosting an Arbonne party for a friend- although I stayed sitting most of the night. Saturday I relaxed during the day but went out that night for a 30th bday party and even did some dancing. And I had terrible anxiety and I still got a BFP.

Re: Bed Rest After Transfer??
mine said 48 hours of complete bedrest.
after my first IVF... i didn't really take the whole bedrest thing so seriously (i wasn't very strict about it) and i sat at the computer, made dinner, etc.. i just took it easy.
when that cycle failed... i had so many regrets!
so for my second FET... i stayed on strict bedrest for 48 hours (no showers during that time... only got up to use the bathroom), ate pineapple core, laid on my left side, prayed to st. gerard... and really just did NOTHING besides laying in bed! i wanted to just be sure that i did everything *I* could do.. so I would have no regrets and wouldn't have to think about "what if... " = kwim?
