Bedrooms with slanted walls
Hopefully this makes sense. Our guest bedroom has slanted walls similar to bedrooms in capes. I had been planning on leaving the ceiling white and painting the slanted walls the same color as the straight part of the walls. One of the painters we met with suggested leaving the slanted walls white so that the room didn't look smaller (it's a pretty large room).
If you have a similar bedroom in your home, what did you do? I could see the room looking smaller if we used a dark color, but I'm pretty sure we're going with something light, probably a pale yellow. Would it look strange if the slanted walls and ceilings were white and the shorter straight walls were yellow? If you have pictures, please post them. TIA.

Re: Bedrooms with slanted walls
We did both. In our BR we painted the slanted walls, straight walls and ceiling all the same color (I forget but I believe Adobe beige so it's a light color). In our sons room we painted the walls green and ceiling and slanted walls white - same for our 1/2 bath upstairs. Here is a link to my album -look towards the end of the pictures for what I'm talking about. My album

Re: Bedrooms with slanted walls
We did the slants white...
It shows off the angles of the room/ceiling better too.

Re: Bedrooms with slanted walls
Our bedroom is very light - BM Barely Beige. The slant is that color, ceiling white. Will try to find you a pic.
This is a before pic - they left it white:

Re: Bedrooms with slanted walls
We have two rooms with slanted ceilings and in both rooms we painted the slanted part the same as the ceiling (an off white color) and the straight wall a different color. It does make the rooms seem larger. The old owner had the walls the same color as the slanted part and it didn't look as nice. (IMO)

Re: Bedrooms with slanted walls
Everything in our BR is the same color, slants and all. It's a tan color. Th flipper hired a professional painter to paint all the rooms the same color, so we haven't changed them since it was nicely done. Our house is considered a dutch colonial, so the upstairs bedrooms all have slants.

Re: Bedrooms with slanted walls
We jsut painted DS's room, which has one slanted wall. We painted the slanted wall the same color as the other walls and left just the ceiling an off white. It was just the look we preferred. If I find the time to do it, I'll post a few photos.
