Bedtime for 10 week old?

My son has been going to bed between 7-8PM lately, but is NOT napping well at all during the day (maybe 3 hrs total on a good day...) and is so overtired/cranky all the time. I think he needs an earlier bedtime but am curious what's "normal" for 10 wks old? Would 6pm be too early? He is currently going down at 8 and sleeping through til 5:30, up for bottle then back til about 7:30.

I think that 8-5:30 for a 10 week old is AMAZING! That is the kind of schedule that a lot of babies don't get into until 3-6 months old.

Especially if he is taking a bottle then going back to sleep --- I wouldn't change it at all!!

You should consider yourself very lucky. We have some 1 year old + moms on here who don't even have that kind of schedule yet!

Thanks for you response. I know we are reeeeeeeally lucky w/the night schedule - and this morning I left him alone at 5:00 and he was hanging out until 7 when I decided he HAD to be hungry so went and got him. This after 8 weeks of milk allergy issues and NO sleep is a very welcome change!

The problem is he doesn't nap in the afternoons hardly at all and from about 3PM til 8 he is soooo cranky with huge bags under his eyes. The other night at 8PM he was screaming in pain from being so tired. I think he needs to go to bed earlier but he fights it. maybe in time it will just happen? I am going to try to put him down earlier but it seems he just likes to scream until 8.

I agree!!! James is 9 weeks old and I would looooove for him to sleep that much!!

I can't help because I would love to get Molly to sleep for 4 hours straight.
