Beginner Charting/Temping Questions...

This is my first cycle of charting and I have few questions.

?#1--Is it OK to take your temp at your regualr time and then go back to sleep? Its hard espeically on the weekends you want to try to sleep in littleChat Icon

?#2--When you input your temp into FertilityFriend, do you enter the temp as it is? For example: my temp for today was 96.84--do you enter that as is or do you enter it as 96.8?

1-On the weekends, I still have my alarm set at the usual time. I take my temp and go right back to sleep. If you can do this, you'll get more accurate temps.

2-I always enter my temp exactly as it comes up - I don't round it - it's more accurate that way.

OK great thanks -- that's what I've been doing.

1) Same time no matter if it is a weekend or vacation.

2) It is actually suggested by the TCOYF author not to use a BBT that goes to the hundreth of a point. You are better off with a BBT that only goes to the tenth of a point. I have one.

That's really interesting. What's the reason for that?

I think it's because it's easier to see the changes in temperature. For some women, the thermal shift may only be around 0.3 degrees so I guess the thinking is that it's easier to see if O took place when temps are rounded.

So should you just drop the hundreth point (like it doesn't exsit) or round it?

I am going to keep doing what I'm doing (going to the hundreth) - it's been working for me so far!

The book says it is unnecessary and confusing. I started with the other type and changed over. It was harder to plot on my own manual chart that I keep by my bed. So far so good.
