Re: Being a Full Time Working Mom is.....
Working with a small infant is soooo trying. Bella went into daycare at 4 months after I went back when she was 10 weeks...
There were nights where I walk right from the train into my "second" more exhausting job. I would lose it. It was 9 pm, DH and I hadn't eaten yet and the baby would have just gone down... I would have been going 3 hours straight after working 8-9 hours and still answering emails and calls.
But after a certain period, maybe like when she was 6-7-8 months, we hit a great routine. I am NOT a morning person, so when she gets up I encourage cuddle time while we watch Sesame Street...
that routine is broken by teething, sickness, and brattiness all the time but I must say having a DH that splits it with you is KEY...he picks her up at daycare almost every day, and he splits those non-routine crazy days...
For me, those first few months that the baby was in daycare were tougher than her being a newborn...This too shall pass!
ETA: just to add that thanks to the LIRR delays I didn't get home until 10:30 last night and Bella was up ALL night sick...so I am feeling your tired pain as I sit at my desk

It is sooo hard! Cooking meals on weekends that can be re-heated during the week helps. Hang in there!

You rarely have a minute to yourself that is for sure. But it does get easier once you get them into a routine. So now I know that once they go down to sleep I either read, watch the mets, go out for a walk or something for myself. It really helps me feel balance.

I don't have any advice for you, just some . I too am a FT working mom, but I am lucky enough to work 3 long days, and mostly when DH is home. I can't imagine having to do it all 5 days a week. I hope it does get easier for you, like everybody says it will.

Re: Being a Full Time Working Mom is.....
Being a Full Time Working Mom is...in one word, for me - exhausting.
In the beginning - I was so up to the challenge that I handled it like a trooper. Day in, day out, routine... had it down pat... full speed ahead.
But after awhile...boy does it wear it on you.
Just know that you are FAR from being alone. There are so many of us doing this - and we are strong bunch - working full time and being mothers full time!

Re: Being a Full Time Working Mom is.....
I always say I have TWO full time jobs. I often feel like MY night doesn't start until 9PM when he is finally out. Now that summers here(I am a teacher!) I only have one!
