Being on BCP and trying to get pregnant after

Question. DS is 4 months old I have been on BCP since 6 wks PP. I'm just thinking in advance. Before I got PG with DS I was never on BCP. When we do decide to get pregnant again Im afraid Im going to have trouble because of taking the pill. I keep thinking about this, Did anyone else ever have a problem? Or should I not be worried.

It took me 5 months to get pregnant with DS...not sure if it is BCP related or not. My friend is a pharmacist and said it could take up to 6 months to get pregnant after going off of the BCP...so I would just give yourself time!

for everyone its different..I have been on BC since I was 19...TTC'd at age 30 and it took me 4 months to get pg.

3 months was for my body to come off the BC....by month 2 though, I was on the same cylcle already.

My sis came of BC, got pg this 1st month.

Some can take longer.

I dont think you should be nervous or afraid.

I was on BCP for 14+ years. When I went off we decided to just "see what happens." I paid very little attention to my cycles and had no idea when the "right time" to BD was. It took us 3 months to get pg with DD.

I stopped a few months before TTC, but my Gyno told me that usually after the first month of being off you should be okay to get pregnant.

I don't think being on BCP affects your ability to get pregnant.

My dr. had me come off 3 months before I wanted to try so that my body could regulate and I would be able to track when I was ovulating.

I got PG the first month we tried (which was 3 mos after I went off)

I was on the pill for over 15 consecutive years. The pill does not CAUSE problems in regard to getting pregnant, rather it MASKS what your true, honest cycles would be like if you were NOT on it. In other words, if your periods or cycles were irregular, too long/short, non-existent, you wouldn't know being on the pill because it regulates you. I could tell you the exact day and time of day I was going to get my period when I was on the pill.

After stopping the pill I would get pregnant with in the 1st -2nd month of beeing off. Infact 4mos before my wedding I told dh I wanted a baby right away so I wanted to stop the pill incase it took a while well shall I say I walked down the asile 3mos pregnant

I got off my BC in May 07 found out I was Preggo on July. I happened so fast. I have 2 other friends the same thing.

did not have a problem at all. I mean yes i went off of them 6 months prior to us trying to regulate my body first. But i had been on them for 10 years straight prior. We got pregnant the 2nd month.

I do not think BCP affects trying to get pregnant.

I went off in late Sept and got pregnant in early January.

My cycles were normal the fist month off and I was on BCP for over 10 years.

after DS was born, I went back on BC right away. I was on it right up until we started TTC again which was when Jacob was 22 months. We got pregnant on the 4th cycle.

I was on the pill for 12 straight years and I conceived the first month after being off the pill.

I was on the pill for many many years before I had DD. I got preggo the next mth after I went off the pill so for me, there was no problem at all - and as I said..I was on it for a loong time prior.

I got PG 3 times the first month off BCPs.
