Trying to get pregnant while having back issue?
Sorry to intrude, but I have a question? Has anyone had any lower lumbar(back) issues when they were TTC? I'm currently going through some PT for my lower back trying to find out what is wrong.

Re: Trying to get pregnant while having back issue?
Yes, during the last time I was pregnant, my back was always very sore, and I had sciatica going down my leg. After giving birth in November, I decided to finally go to the doctor, and I had an MRI that showed I had a herniated disk in my L5-S1 vertebrea.
I started some meds to take the pain away, but also did PT to start strengthening the back muscles.
I found out I was preggo while I was still going to PT, and I was just told no crunches, I couldn't do any heat (although I was only doing cold at the time), no heavy duty massager thing. They were still able to do massages on my back.
If you have any questions, FM me. Feel better soon!

Re: Trying to get pregnant while having back issue?
Thanks for the response...Right now we know that there is a vertebrae loose that is pinching down on a nerve. What they are trying to figure out is if this is causing my knee and ankle pain...I'm doing a whole bunch of exercises to strengthen my lower back and my pelvic muscles...I'm hoping that the PT will help and everything will go back where it is supposed to be so that I don't have any "extra" back pain during pregnancy

Just stick with the PT as long as they will let you...my insurance cut me off after 6 weeks . I am still in pain, but feeling MUCH better than I did. I wasn't even able to walk.
Now I have pain, but it is bearable, and it is mostly in my hip/butt area where the sciatica nerve runs. It used to be severe all the way down through my knee and ankle.
