Bereavement counseling
Think its weird if I think I need it for my gma?
I am going through so much other stuff right now, but this sent me over the edge
I can't deal with anything anymore
I used to see her on my way home from work on Saturdays, and cried all the way home today
I am not getting a lot of support right now from DH and thats a whole other tragedy in my life. I feel I need a therapist for everything.... Is there a group or something I can go to that doesnt cost too much?

Re: Bereavement counseling
I don't think it's weird at all, if you need it you need it.
When I was in college and lost my grandpa after a long illness, I took it really hard and developed insomnia. My friend was like, it's okay to grieve and all but if it's affecting you so bad it could help to talk to someone. So I did, and for me it didn't really help but maybe the step of going to someone did because I felt better. I just didn't get that much out of talking with the woman, I think a person specializing in grief issues would be good. At least a support group, they have some at local hospitals and churches, might be good for you.
Losing a grandparent is very hard, not any easier just because everyone goes through it and because you lost her when you were older she was a bigger part of your life. So sorry for your loss and hope you're feeling better soon!
*ETA: Just re-read your post and realize you wanna talk about everything too... you should see if your health insurance qualifies you for any kind of mental health counseling, and sometimes jobs have services for this too.

Re: Bereavement counseling
There is nothing wrong with that. I feel the same way. I lost my grandmother July 4th and I miss her terribly. She was my best friend and I am so lost without her. I wanted to look into bereavement counseling as well. I also feel like I am going through so much. Its like everything happens all at once and I can't deal.
Many to you.

Re: Bereavement counseling
My son and I went to bereavement counseling after I lost my mom. We got it through the hospice house free of charge, it was a wonderful experience.
There is also a group in Smithtown that meets 2x a month for free.
