I really wanted my mil (yes you read that correct) and sis in the room but dh said he wanted it to be just us. If I had to do it all over again I would've fought to have them there. It was such an amazing experience that I wish they were there. Oh well
Guess I'm the odd ball. Shocker

My brother lives in California and just had a baby. My mom was tearfully describing how special it was that they skyped with her from the delivery room. I live about 20 minutes from my mom and I don't want anyone in the delivery room except DH and the doula (and I love my mom!). I also told DH that I do not want his parents there the second the baby arrives, which is what happened with DS - I don't want to worry about my breasts hanging out and I don't want DH to have to attend to anyone but me and our DS (his parents require lots of attention - which is fine generally, but not with the arrival of baby #2!).

Besides your DH..are you having.....
DH and possibly my older sister. She's an OB/GYN and I think having her in there might soothe me a little bit. Plus DH is very quiet and stand offish so while I'm sure he'll be holding my hand and rubbing my back, I can't see him really coaching me. My sister on the other hand has been through it 100 times and might be a little more encouraging. That's if she makes it from the Jersey Shore in time and isn't in the middle of a bunch of patients.

Just my DH...we had to go through infertility treatments and so pretty much your intimacy in conceiving is lost...the delivery is something that belongs to us
