I've actually done really really well with cheap maternity clothes! I loooove my two pairs of long length Old Navy jeans- they're very flattering & I can wear them with boots. My Old Navy winter coat has been working out great. I have a few pairs of pants from Kohl's that I wish I had in non-maternity! At 31 weeks, I have outgrown some of my shirts though- they're too short.

some of mine -
Best
- $10 body pillow from Target, I had heard mixed reviews of Snoogle so I got this instead.
- Baby Bargains Book - was actually lent to me by a very good friend, but I would have purchased it.
Clothes- I was able to just wear regular clothes in bigger sizes and just invest in a few key maternity pieces
Jacket - I'm due in January so I didn't want to buy one, so I just borrowed a bigger coat from my aunt
Bra extender - I agree with the pp who mentioned this
I'll have to think of my worst

Bella band and Snoogle. The snoogle is Ok for laying on the couch but I cannot sleep w/ it at night.

Baby Bargains - It really helped when registering.
Gap Maternity clothes, Juilet Dream Jeans - worth the money.
My .mac account where I host a baby blog for out of town relatives and friends so they can keep up w/ what's going on here; sono pics; some belly pics; etc. We even took a video of our Level 2 and put it up - everyone loved to be able to watch.

THE SNOOGLE! ugh. I know a lot of women on here swear by it, but for me, it was such a waste. big, bulky, uncomfortable...not worth the 50 or 60 bucks IMO.
Feel free to share your best and worst pregnancy purchases...
ITA with the snoogle. I use a regular $10 body pillow from Sears & it does the job better IMO.
Best purchases....organic belly butter. It keeps the itchies away

Internet for reviews! LIF, BRU, Amazon and Graco baby websites!
Buying a larger size stocking / tight instead of maternity.
Buying a few larger bras at 30 weeks.
Buying about 5 maternity dresses from Gap, Motherhood and Ann Taylor Loft. To me, a dress was easier than dealing w/ Maternity Pants for work. I always felt like the Maternity Pants would be falling down on me. To me a dress was also cheaper b/c it was only buying one piece instead of 2.
Old navy Maternity Tank Tops.
Gap Maternity Jeans!
Worst: Palmers CREAM Cocoa Butter. As stated above, the organic body butter works so much better.
Cheaper jeans from motherhood. They don't stay up, and I hate the way they look on me. I still wear them on the weekends for running errands, but if I am ever going out, I put on Gap.
