Re: Best Cruise Lines
Our Honeymoon was on Princess and I would have to say that I would not sail with them again. The price was good, but sometimes you get what you pay for. The only staff on the ship who were friendly and spoke english were the Cruise Director and his Activities Staff. Unfortunately, Princess did not live up to our expectation in food and service, however the ship was beautiful (Star Princess). This cruiseline is now owned by Carnival which is known to be a cheaper line.
This is the ship that had the fire from a cigarette a few months back and lost 120 rooms to the damage.
My parents swear by RC. They say that the staff is amazing as is the food and that the service is great. They took a Celebrity Cruise last year and found it to be just a bit classier than RC and a musch older group of people.
For more cruise info go to www.cruisecritic.com
They have great message boards and ship info.

Re: Best Cruise Lines
I have been on NCL, Carnival, and Princess cruises.
Our favorite was Carnival. We just booked our honeymoon with Carnival.
I have heard that Royal Caribbean didn't have the best food...

Re: Best Cruise Lines
Ive only been on 1 cruise and that was on Carnival. I went w/ family before I got married. We had alot of fun, rooms were very clean, staff was great, and food was very good!
But I have heard alot of great things about RC as well. Next cruise we go on, I want to try RC. Carnival is def more family oriented..tons of kids ,etc. Ive heard RC is more for couples and has more of a romantic setting.

Re: Best Cruise Lines
Hello, I only cruise on Celebrity, and if you join their Capatain'sClub, there are perks. I love cruising, it's so relaxing. Going in October to the Mexican Riviera, have been to Bermuda, and to the Caribbean on the M class ships 2x's, we took the same cruise 2 yrs. in a row, we loved it so much. One of these days I'll get a veranda which I dream about, but in the meantime I don't complain at all.

Re: Best Cruise Lines
We just booked a Caribbean cruise on NCL for November. We were drawn to the freestyle options. We are excited to go!

Re: Best Cruise Lines
We just got back from our HM cruise on NCL and we LOVED it! We really liked the choices of restaurants on the boat and the fact that you could eat at any time you want. I have also been on a RCCL cruise (about 10 years ago) and remember it being great. We're looking into going on another cruise next year!

Re: Best Cruise Lines
I'm thinking about planning another cruise for next year. I have been on 3 RC cruises and loved it. I was thinking of trying a Carnival cruise. I heard alot of people here saying they didn't like Carnival. I was wondering exactly what you didn't like about it?

I love Celebrity - I am elite captains club with them. Depending on when you go it can have an older crowd - but the food and service is the top of the mass market. We did our first princess last year and honestly didn't notice a big different - some better, some worse - mostly the same - but this was just our experience.
Celebrity is great - you will get a glass of champagne when you board, ice cold towels when you board after a day on an island and shorbet by the pool. They are a nice line - you can't go wrong with them.

Re: Best Cruise Lines
We went to Alaska on RCCL. We loved it. It was really, really nice. I also went on a cruise on NCL when I was 15 to Bermuda and really enjoyed that as well.
My aunt is a ta and she and my uncle have been on 35 (maybe 36) cruises with RCCL!!! They swear by them. They went to Alaska with us last year and it was great to have them because they know all of the little details.
I've heard that Carnival isn't as nice b/c it is more of a "spring break" type cruise.

Re: Best Cruise Lines
1st cruise was Royal Car. -LOVED IT..mixed crowd of people-Great food- new ship (at the time) My favorite!
2nd cruise- Princess- FABULOUS food- this a while back though-so some people are saying it has changed-I dont know- BUT, an older crowd...VERY nice rooms...VERY clean...GReat service
3rd cruise- Carnival- went for New Years- Had a FABULOUS time- Young crowd- BUT too many little children running around AT times- NOT all the time-Food was good- but the other two were better...I HAVE HEARD THAT THEIR NEW SHIPS ARE GREAT THOUGH-So if you do book them, book a new ship
4th cruise-honeymoon- Celebrity- It was a Med. 11 day cruise-which makes a difference with the crowd-it was a bit older- BUT there were MANY honeymoon couples-The service was the best here than anywhere else...the food was FABULOUS EXCEPT for one night where Dh and I ordered 4 dinners and didnt like any. The daytime food -buffets were pretty average with the other ships I have been on- I basically judge by the evening selections and quality-
***Our next cruise I would do Royal again because I think the quality is on par with Celebrity-they are owned by the same company- BUT it was more of a mixed crowd-which like I said, may be in part because it was a longer European cruise-but I would still do Royal again...

Re: Best Cruise Lines
We have been on 5 Carnival cruises and have no complaints. I love the new ships and the crew is always nice and the ship is spotless.
We went on a RCCL to Bermuda a few years ago, but it was an older ship and we were not impressed.
I think we will try another RCCL cruise in 2007, maybe one of the newer ones.
