Best Exercise for Lower Abs?
My stomach has gone down from doing crunches everyday but I still have that "soft spot" from having 2 kids. What would be the best exercise to get this area toner and tighter? Thanks!

Do you go to the gym? They have a thing that I guess is used for dips, but basically anywhere you can hang and lift your legs straight out in from of you. This seems to hit the lower region better than crunches. Oh yeah, and cardio

Re: Best Exercise for Lower Abs?
Whenever you do your arm weights, stand on one leg or on one of those things that looks like half of an ab ball. (They sort of look like a ball on the bottom and a flat platform on top - why am I blanking on their name???) At any rate, having to balance like that will also work your abs.
crunches with your legs up on the bench (bent at a 90 degree angle) will also target the lower abs. Be sure to pull your belly button back down into the floor when you crunch.

No I don't. I usually just do something at home.

Re: Best Exercise for Lower Abs?
Another thing you can do anywhere is pull your abs in and your butt in (think pulling on a tight pair of pants). Hold it for a few seconds and then release.

OMG--I LOVE Gilad. I used to do his workouts waaaaaaaay back in the day. Can't remember what channel it was on at the time. I'm talking like, 20 yrs ago.
I loved FIT TV too. Did that whole channel go off the air? I switched from satellite to cablevision and didn't know if that's why I could never find it again.

I love Gilad too. He was on FitTv when I was living in the city and I used him to get in shape for my wedding and honeymoon. Ever since we moved to NJ he is not on the air here...I miss him and his workouts!

I think we officially have enough people for a Gilad fan club now.

Re: Best Exercise for Lower Abs?
i used to do leg lifts while lying down. lie on the floor on your back with your body fully extended and legs together, toes pointed. bring your legs up as far as you can without picking your butt off the floor. and then slowly lower them, as slow as you can. you will feel your lower abs tighten as you do this.

YES, this and also doing crunches with your legs straight out instead of bent.
