BEST French Onion Soup Recipe!
Made this last night and just had leftovers which were so much better!

It is a little time consuming, but so so good. They suggest making it a couple of days in advance which I would agree with. Even from yesterday to today, the flavor is so different. I would suggest reducing the thyme I though it was a little heavy

Looks delish!! Mmm, those caramelized onions. I was just craving french onion soup today since I watched Giada make it last night  .

I used a 6 quart copper pot and reduced the recipe to .75. There was plenty

I am sorry but it can't be. it calls for water. water = flavor reducer. it brings nothing but liquid to the party.

Ina has the best recipe.
Could never But I will kindly disagree. I tried your Ina recipe last time and this one is better IMO. Try it out, then get back to me. Put your water disdain away and try it. You'll thank me...promise. Although I see your point and subbed some of the water for veal stock
