"Best Friend"
Do you refer to your best friend as such in conversation? For example, "I'm having dinner with my best friend tonight".
Or did you give up that lingo after high school?

Re: "Best Friend"
I refer to all my friends as friends. I don't have one "best" friend, although I feel closest to one in particular.

Re: "Best Friend"
I usually refer to my closest friends as "one of my best friends" since "friend" can be anyone from a co-worker to someone I've met on here.

Re: "Best Friend"
LOL...just "friend" it annoys me on myspace when I see 28 year old women refer to their friends (in the same way my 14 year old cousin dose) as captioned in pics 'me and my bestest"....

Re: "Best Friend"
I prefer: my very good friend or my very close friend. I have only 2 really good friends, the rest are just "people I know and like"
BF IS a little childish IMO

Re: "Best Friend"
Just "friends." I don't think I referred to someone as my BFF since I was 10.

Re: "Best Friend"
Mostly just call them friends....if it's important to the story I will say "one of my closest friends"...other than that I never say best friend

Re: "Best Friend"
I always tell DH he is my bestest friend. Although in conversations I clearly refer to him as my husband or his name
All other friends are referred to as friend - no hierarchy

Re: "Best Friend"
i still use "best" friend... i think if its someone you're that close to, they deserve some distinction... because a "friend" could be almost anyone...

I think I stopped using the term "Best Friend" when I got out of grammar school.
I have close friends, friends and then acquaintences.

Re: "Best Friend"
To me, there can only be one "best" and since i have many close friends that I am close with in different ways. If i wanted to distinguish them from a regular friend, I would say - "I am having dinner with one of my closest friends". I dont recall calling them "best friends" in a while, but it's possible I have without noticing.

Re: "Best Friend"
I refer to my best friend as such because we've been as close as sisters since we were 13. I've been friends with her since kindergarten.

That's kind of how I feel...I typically say "one of my closest friends" when in mixed company. I have been friend's with my "best friend" for 23 years - we're more like family than "friend's" so I feel she needs some kind of distinction.

Re: "Best Friend"
I don't get anyone who has more than one best friend. By having more than one it defeats the word best
