Re: "Best Friend"

i dont have a class system nor do i have a best friend
i have alot of casual friends but no "best" friend to be honest.
if anyone wants to be my best friend let me know! lol
me neither(besides DH) I have close friends, but none that outrank the rest.
Maybe their should be some sort of points system. Or voting?

I don't get anyone who has more than one best friend. By having more than one it defeats the word best
Ahh, semantics!

Re: "Best Friend"
I rarely use it. DH and I have a group of friends and I consider them all "Great friends". If I had to say/pick a best friend its definitley my sister!

Re: "Best Friend"
No, I don't call anyone my best friend. Well, I guess DH. But all my friends are my friends, and I refer to them as friends.

Re: "Best Friend"
I almost feel silly using that term... so I only use it occasionally and to certain people... But yes I have a "BF"

Re: "Best Friend"
My oldest friend is like a sister, but I often feel closer to one of my other friends, and the second one is the one I tell almost everything. I don't really use the term to describe either one, because to me the term means you only have one best friend. does that make sense?

Re: "Best Friend"
I have a friend that I have known since I was 7. We were BFs all the way through HS and our friendship has continued to this day. She holds a very special place in my heart and I will always refer to her as my BF.
I have had some very good friends since HS and some of them have even known me better than she because with the distance we have had some periods where we weren't as close. But I still would only refer to her as my BF.

Re: "Best Friend"
No, I do not classify. I may say "good friend", but never best. I found that whenever I gave those labels iout something happened and the friendship disolved.

Re: "Best Friend"
I do refer to my very close friend as my "best friend". We have been friends since 7th grade. She lives in another state, so we don't see each other as often as I would like....but we could not talk for weeks/months and then talk on the phone and it's like we never missed a day.

Re: "Best Friend"
Over the last few years, I no longer have a "best friend". That relationship was ruined a few years ago and led to the ruin of some other great relationships as well............
DH & I had a GREAT group who we had always been tight with (DH since he was 13).....but sadly that's changed for the worse because we are no longer friends with my old best friend. Sad and crappy....but we have moved on!
Now I have a terrific group of girls who I met about a year & 1/2 ago and all the DH get along so nice & we have alot of fun together!! None I would consider my "best friend" in the sense yuo mean, but GREAT friends non the less!!!! Love 'em all!

Re: "Best Friend"
I have a few girls who I consider my closest friends. I might refer to them individually as, "one of my best friends," but I'm more likely to say "my good friend," or "my close friend." I haven't really had a BEST friend since HS.

Re: "Best Friend"
I think I am a little too old for that now. If I have to make a distinction for any particular reason, I prefer to use "dearest," or "closest" in front of the word "friend." I know who they are to me. Seeing BFF used all the time now reminds me of the broken BFF charms we used to wear in the late 80s.

Re: "Best Friend"
I have a best friend. She knows who she is and I know that I am hers. We've been friends since dinos roamed the earth, actually since Jr. High. We don't go around calling each BFF4EVA or anything. But out of all my friends I just know she is the one I can count on the most. We've been through everything together and I'm proud of the relationship we have and wouldn't trade it in for anything.

Re: "Best Friend"
I have a best friend and I refer to her as such. We have been friends since nursery school and been through a lot so I could never call her just a friend.

Re: "Best Friend"
I use BFF as kind of a joking/loving way to refer to my closest friend, even though she is my "best friend" I don't really use that phrase seriously.
