We have been all over the Carribean and this was by far the worst experience we ever had. We stayed at Sandals. It was so bad that us and a few other couples got a free trip from the manager before we left, to use in the future at another Sandals. My list is very long. From cockaroaches in rooms to no bartenders, to the point the people I met, their husbands had to hop over the bar and serve bar. We went into town one day and I was so nervous, that we went back immediately to this lovely resort. Then the guard standing on the beach right off the bar armed really added to the ambience. Maybe it was the resort and staying at another would have been a different story, but all in all, it was on the bottom of the many islands I went to.

We spent 2 weeks in Tuscany for our HM- it was amazing!
Other places we considered were the South of France, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea and Costa Rica.

I went to Bora Bora and it was absolutely amazing!!! We stayed in an overwater bungaloo..and it was breath taking!
It was def. once in lifetime trip!
same here, it was just amazing. We had a spiral staircase out of our hut, right into the water, incredible.

we went to Bali and it was the best vacation ever....anything you could want on an island was there and really inexpensive...we had a private villa w/ pool and that included a butler, cook, maid & driver....it was like we were royalty our entire stay

Like you, DH and I went to Kauai - we also did Maui and Oahu. We loved Kauai and Maui - I would skip Oahu for maybe another island if I could do it over again. We went to San Diego on the way there which was beautiful. I think I would do Napa - gorgeous. Anyway, we stayed at the Grand Hyatt (like you, it was amazing) and we stayed at the Grand Wailea on Maui - absolutely, hands down, best Hotel I have ever been to in my entire life. I DREAM about it to this day. I had seen it on the Travel Channel and then Oprah took her staff there and did a special on it... Then, you may have seen this, Jon and Kate Plus 8 famously renewed their vows there before they even more famously got divorced  But yeah, there are NO words to describe that place. I pray I get to go there again one day!!
For all inclusives, the best AI I have ever been to in my entire life was Excellence Playa Mujeres in Mexico -- Travel Tom (recommended to me from the gals on here) booked it for me through Amex travel... BEST trip, so well planned, the hotel was AMAZING - nothing was considered 'not included' - and the food was top notch, not like most AI's... it was lobster, escargot, etc. I mean, really the best place ever for AI's.

Friends of mine also went to St. Barts which they said was fabulous.

We went to Hawaii and Vegas on our honeymoon. 2 weeks in Hawaii split into 3 islands(Maui, Kauai, Oahu) and 3 nights in Vegas. It was an amazing trip!
If you do go to Hawaii I HIGHLY recommend staying at the Grand Hyatt in Kauai, its beautiful! We stayed at Mandalay Bay in Vegas and it was great too

We chose a really nice all inclusive near Sandals.... I expected great food, etc. and it was pretty crappy. I ended up with a parasite for more than half of the trip and was in bed screaming in pain, had to see the dr, couldn't not leave the room. It rained half of the trip as well. Their airport is a complete disaster. The people were nice and we met fun people and had a good time (when I was not sick) but I would never go back. I also spent a whole day boatsick (not Antigua's fault tho!).

Gee...it sounds like we both didn't have luck in Antigua. I hear you about the airport. We had a connecting flight from San Juan to Antigua and because of weight on the plane, they didn't put my luggage on and I never got it until my second day there. We too met great people at our hotel and made the best of it, but it was our least desired trip. At night when we went to the bathroom and turned on the light, cockroaches all over vanity, in my makeup bag...horrible! We changed rooms three times. They are all inclusive, but no bartenders most nights so we all had to fend for ourselves. Was funny looking back. So sorry you got sick!

We went to Belize and stayed at the Inn at Robert's Grove.
They own two small private islands, we spent half our trip on the island and half on the mainland.
Belize is GORGEOUS. Not commercial touristy. It was unbelievable.

The Four Seasons in Maui is my favorite place on earth.
I have also heard incredible things about Maldives, Belize and Bali.
My dad and step-mom love a place called Petit St. Vincent LINK. It's a private island in the Caribbean and it may be a great idea for a HM.

we went to Costa Rica for our honeymoon - we've been meaning to get back there again. We've been to Hawaii a few times and feel in love with Kauai. Traveled extensively through Europe (and love it, particularly Italy) but didn't want to honeymoon there because it would have meant visits to DH's extended family.
We're going to Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea for our 10yr in April - CAN.NOT.WAIT.

We stayed in a villa on the top of a mountain in the south of Spain (the name of the town is escaping me but it was near Malaga and we were very close to the beach where you could look across the water and see Africa)! It was a truly amazing, once in a lifetime trip but it was NOT by any means relaxing! We did a ton of sightseeing and just getting around was kind of stressful.
We also went to Costa Rica for our 3 year anniversary and while I loved that too, it wasn't especially relaxing either.
After my wedding all I wanted to do was lay on a beach and not move, lol.

Was it Torremolinos? I went there when I as in high school and cried when I had to leave!

Of the places I have been I would recommend Florence, the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Riviera Maya, Mexico, Bermuda and Costa Rica for a honeymoon.

We went to Spain. Visited three cities and did a ton of sightseeing. Best trip ever! We don't relax by sitting on a beach though. We like to go go go.
My sister did three places in Greece. The first two were more for sightseeing and the last was just to chill on the beach.

HAWAII!! We went for 2 weeks to Maui and Oahu.
Definitely MAUI! and if I ever go again, I would love to go to Kauai or The Big Island.
I don't know if it's where we stayed but Oahu was very crowded...it was like NYC with a beach..
I loved Maui so much!
