Best time to book Disney Cruise or NCL
I am thinking of going on a cruise next June or August. My first choice is to take a Disney cruise with my husband and 4 year old, my second choice (if husband cannot get vacation) is to go out of NY.
My first question is how far in advance should I book a Disney cruise? Second, has anyone ever done a cruise w/o their husband with their child? My son will be 4 1/2 in June.
TIA

Re: Best time to book Disney Cruise or NCL
It's almost always best to book as early as possible. Cruise fares only increase as times goes on and the cheaper rooms get filled up.
Disney (for the most part) really doesn't offer fare sales and deals like some other lines might. Your best bet is to book as soon as possible. The only other thing with Disney is to do a very last minute guarantee rate, but there's no guarantee that will be available for the dates you want.
Travelling with just your DS will most likely mean he's priced at full adult fare. Some Cruise lines (like Disney) do charge less for kids, but that's only after 2 adults have been paid.
Disney won't be sailing out of NY after this summer and we don't know when they'll be back, but NCL does sail year-round from NY.
I don't have kids, but I think a cruise would probably be a good choice for a vacation with one parent (other than the aforementioned pricing issue) because it's very self-contained.
