best toy for destructive dogs
Maggie destroys almost every toy we give her, whether it's stuffed or rubber. Someone gave my DS a Sophie the Girafee teether, which honestly looks and sounds just like a rubber dogs' toy. Well, let's just say Maggie "adopted" it. Had this been a reg toy - it would have lasted an hour tops. Well we're going on 4 days now and she loves it and hasn't destroyed it!

Re: best toy for destructive dogs
we went through SO MANY toys that claim to be "tough"... hershey is just a really powerful chewer i guess b/c he ripped through ALL OF THEM
sadly we arent able to buy any plush or rubber toys anymore... we stick to tennis ball toys (and even those he has gotten through eventually) and nylabone toys/bones

Sofie the Giraffe teether is for babies! How odd!
We give Katie Kong products. She has yet to destroy one.

Re: best toy for destructive dogs
I've yet to find anything he can't chew through...that seems to be my dog's mission when he gets a new toy. I would love to get him a Sophie but we're about to have a baby and I don't want him stealing the baby's Sophie when she starts teething.

After reading this I got my dog a fat cat chicken...it lasted 7 hours, which for him is quite an accomplishment! Usually toys are done within minutes!

LOL, my moms dog used to be like that, the fat cat toys are the only ones that have lasted! She likes to "kill" the squeaker!

Re: best toy for destructive dogs
Kongs last the longest but she can still rip little pieces off after a while. Nylabones are the best because when she chews them, they king of disintegrate into edible splinters so there is no mess, and they take a long time for her to work through.

I'm VERY interested in this! So far the only thing Lucy hasn't chewed through is the Nylabone. The *ONLY* thing.

Re: best toy for destructive dogs
rope toys are the only thing that doesn't seem to be destroyed or anything made of that hard felt material.
as for stuffed animals they last maybe 2 minutes and balls last about 5 minutes

Re: best toy for destructive dogs
we have a pit bull and she loves stuffed toys. I went to petwarehouse in selden and got her a tuffy toy (barn yard series). its pricey about $30 but the toy lasts.
