Best way to cook asparagus?
I have never made it before. I bought 1 bunch and plan on making it for Christmas dinner, how do you prepare it? What is the best way to serve it? It will be a side for Christmas dinner.

I usually toss it with a little olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and lemon zest and roast it.
It's good steamed too!

I like it roasted. I usually add EVOO, salt, pepper and crushed red pepper. Sometimes I'll top it with bread crumbs.

simple roast with olive oil, salt and pepper
or sometimes I cut it up into bite sized pieces and sautee with garlic and baby bella mushromms and top off with freshly grated parma

I like to cut into 1 inch pieces. Toss with evoo, sea salt and pepper and put in a cast iron skillet and cook it on high heat for about 3 minutes or so.

I dont like my asparagus mushy and I dont like it dry either, so I only steam it. then I drizzle it with EVOO and lemon with some cracked black pepper. Yummy...we have it at least three times a week.

I'm a roaster or steamer
I roast it with EVOO, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, S&P, garlic powder, onion powder, crushed red pepper, breadcrumbs and grated romano or parmesan..whatever I have on hand.
Roast in a broiler pan for 15 mins at 400.
Steam in the microwave or steamer pot for about 5 mins and then add S&P, a squeeze of lemon and a little butter.
I eat asparagus all of the time.
