I'm atenolol. Been taking it for about a year and a half and just had my dosage increased. I have some side effects but that's because I take them for tachycardia, not high blood pressure.

Re: beta blocker
I'm also on atenolol for tachycardia. I've been on it for 10 years and have no side effects at all. I'm on a "baby dosage" is how the cardiologist put it. If I forget to take it in the morning, I know within a few hours, b/c my heart beat becomes very noticeable and feels like it's pounding. Within a half hour of taking it, I feel tremendously calmer. I hope you tolerate it well.

Re: beta blocker
Probably weird but I actually liked being on it lol
I was on for my thyroid when it was HYPER (The good old day of being thin for no reason) My heart was beating out of control.
It took me 3 different ones to find the right one for me. No real side effects. While on them, it was the first time in a long time that I wasn't listening to and feeling my heart beat constantly.

Re: beta blocker
I got put on toprol 2x a day. I took it twice and felt loopy. I just need to take it before I have a procedure done so they can track my heart and reactions, but whoa. People would think I was drunk. Maybe dose is too high. I go back again Monday, we will see.

Re: beta blocker
I've been on propanolol for years to handle my migraines. No issues at all with the medication.

I am currently on Timolol for migraines. I use to take Propanolol. I occassionally have exercise intolerance and if I am dehydrated I will experience episodes of dizziness both are manageable.

Oh ok. They told me to up my water and sodium while taking it. I will try and do so to cut back on this loopy feeling. Thanks.
