Bethenny's Post-Mama Weight Loss bad for NY Women's Self Image?

How do you feel about this?

To me, it's great if a woman can bounce back after a pregnancy as soon as she can. I admire those women & don't understand how it's bad for the rest.

Bethenny Frankel may have lost 30 pounds just three weeks after giving birth, but her desperate plea for publicity is irking new mothers.

"This sets a very unattainable standard for the majority of new mothers," said one expectant mom.

Peg Moline, editor-in-chief of Fit Pregnancy, said:

"I'm concerned if she's taking care of herself, getting enough rest and enough food, and not obsessing about losing the weight so quickly.

I worry about the message that sends to the rest of us out here, who aren't invested in that 'skinny girl' persona and don't have trainers."

No shiz! But we all know Bethenny doesn't care about anyone but herself. Plus, she has mention herself that she grew up obsessed with food and diet and weight.

Frankel defended allegations by insisting that she went on a doctor-advised diet and exercise plan. The said that the weight loss "was water retention exacerbated by a C-section, which doesn't allow food for two days."

The famewhore continued:

"My message to women is to be comfortable where you are, to not binge at any point in your life, to eat a balanced diet with indulgences and to go at your own pace."

Riiiiiight. As long as Bethenny isn't the fat one!

Bravo reality star, Bethenny Frankel reveals that 3 weeks after giving birth to her daughter, Bryn, she can slip into a size-4 swimsuit!

Incredible!

Bethenny attributes her success with maintaining her weight during pregnancy with keeping very active. She admits to walking 45 minutes three times a week and doing yoga, all while putting on 35 pounds of baby weight.

Now, post-birth, Bethenny is decreasing the amount of time she walks, but is still keeping to a low-fat menu.



Whatever you are doing, just keep doing it! You look wonderful!

She is incredibly tiny, had a small baby, and was also VERY healthy and VERY fit. Her weight loss isn't surprising to me at all.

So she should have found a way to stay heavy so she can make other people feel better about themselves? Ridiculous.

As a woman who just gave birth a week ago, and a woman from NY, I can say that whatever she did to lose weight, I don't give a crap about! Who gives a shite that she lost all that weight in such a short amount of time? I don't care. If I had time to work out and have healthy meals prepared for me and someone to watch my kids while I did it, I'd look like that too.

I generally find him funny, but this time's he's being an idiot..I gained 30lbs my pregnancy and was down a good 20 3 weeks PP..he knows nothing about being PG or all that he needs to shut his mouth

I lost 26 Lbs in 10 days PP. I had gained a lot of weight in my last semester due to water retention. And yes, I did not eat for 2 full days after my c-section (not allowed too!).

And I HAD TO force myself to eat when I came home because I was BFing.

I was not enough in good shape.

So, someone like her is not surprising at all.

I don't like her and I never have. That said, this doesn't surprise me at all. I don't see this woman as a new mom at all - I see her as a reality tv junkie that had a baby - her appearance and lifestye is her #1 priority - I am sure she bounced right back to her life as well as her body - is she the new mom - sleep deprived, EBF, running ragged changing diapers all day on 2 hrs a sleep at a time - NO WAY. So, I don't see her as losing the weight as any big accomplishment actually.

this is lame. i was down 32 lbs. 8 days PP and I only gained 16lbs while pregnant. (granted, im a beast to begin so I had much more weight to loose )

she was a size 2 while pregnant. find something news worthy perez!

Agreed, that Perez has an axe to grind in the first place.

It's really funny I guess to say this, but even after all the books, publicity for Skinny Girl, etc. I do NOT see her as a weight obsessed person. I see her as someone who is healthy obsessed, sure. And I don't even think she's a publicity junkie, but who knows? I don't see what happens off camera. She just doesn't smack of crazy and attention *****-ish like some of the other ones on the show.

eta: And if someone is so concerned about the "standard" she's projecting about post pregnancy weight loss, they are the ones with the issue. Everyone should stop worrying about what celebrities do and concentrate on themselves and being happy with what they see in the mirror and themselves.

she was all belly..no suprise here that she looks this good only three weeks after. Some women can fit back into their previous size really quickly after giving birth. Don't be a Hater perez!!!

She is tiny to begin with. I gained 26 pds when I was pregnant and all belly. I'm small to begin with and worked out throughout the pregnancy. I also lost all the weight 2 weeks after. My stomach wasn't flat and muscular, but I wasn't working out yet.

Sure she can be a bit much and loves being on camera, but we made her that way b/c pple love to watch her
