BF and milk supply question?
If you start to loose your supply is there any way to get it back? I noticed my breasts dont hurt or feel as full as they did. I started wearing a new bra (the handsfree bra) it fits but not as tight as the nursing sports bras i was wearing.. so not sure if that made a difference. I pump when DD doesnt do the full time or empty the breasts.. i pumped at 3:30am and again at 7:30am..
Im wondering if i should just start weaning her on to formula.. she just turned 1 month old.

They wiill eventually not feel as full. That is normal since your body adjusts to the demand. Are you exclusively pumping or do you pump after feeding to increase your supply? Is your child gaining weight and having wet/poopie diapers. There may not even be a supply issue! Don't get discouraged yet!

Re: BF and milk supply question?
This same thing happened to me ...but I nursed through it and realzied DS was in fact getting enough.
I totally felt like my breasts weren't as full and that I had a decrease in supply. Especially at times when DS wanted to nurse every hour! ...but I stuck with the nursing. I contemplated using formula mulitple times but as it turned out I didn't have to.
Funny, when I went out and bought bras that fit right/looser bras (i was wearing sports bras all the time that were kinda snug) my breasts felt less full too ...but my milk was still there.
Stick with it and don't worry until DC stops gaining weight normally.
HTH!!

Im doing both feeding from breast and pumping, sometimes when she gets over tired she wont latch on so i give the bottle instead. I just brought her for her one month on tuesday and she was 10lbs, my peds was very happy with her growth. She has lots of wet diapers and some poops.

Sounds like you are doing fine then! Keep feeding/pumping every 2-3 hoursI BF for 14 months and my breasts never felt overly full after a month or so! You can pump after she nurses and make sure to pump for five minutes after the flow stops just to make sure they are fully empty. As long as she keeps gaining weight and having wet/poopie diapers it sounds like everything is normal.

Re: BF and milk supply question?
Like everyone else mentioned...your breast do get adjusted after a while...unless you missed a couple of feeds through the night then they shouldn't feel so full all the time. The only time I feel so full is if I miss a feeding or two through the night (bc DS is sleeping through). I just feed him first thing when he wakes up and pump the rest...it hasn't affected my supply...as long as you continue to feed on demand it will build itself up.

No you won't but you will wake up extremely engorged, so pumping at least once if you're not BF would be a good idea.

i pump once very early in the morning after the 5am feeding because i am engorged. dh does the 2am feeding with the bottle, so missing that one makes me very full even after feeding jonah. even though it sux to get out of bed, i like pumping at that time because i get a lot more milk than usual... i am becoming a compulsive pumper
