BF and PPD ?

I have stopped BF Julia for like a month now, and I feel like I'm suffering from PPD a little, I know it maybe symptoms of getting my period cause I'm due for it, but lately I have been so emotional, tired, overwhelmed feeling, and sad. I just started feeling this way since I stopped BF her. Has anyone else felt this way after they stopped BF there baby? I just get so worried that something is wrong with me all the time, and suffering from anxiety doesn't help.

TIA!

I haven't weaned yet, but I was warned by other moms to expect some crazy emotions... Apparently your hormones take some time to catch up when you stop.

My cousin felt this way, upset and emotional... She said it was from stopping nursing... She misses it but she couldn't take it anymore and just weaned her daughter (17 months)

Re: BF and PPD ?

Yes... I was very depressed for the first time since she had been born but I did it because I had a really bad sinus infection and I needed antbiotics because it had dragged on for three months (the infection...). I was so depressed and had a feeling of lingering guilt. It lasted about two or three weeks. It was right around the holidays too. (December 21st, Jules 9 month Bday was teh day I stopped)... I think it was more of a fact that I felt she didn't need me and only me anymore. Chat Icon It went away just as suddenly as it came and we were fine. I never told my husband because as wonderful as he is, he just wouldn't have understood. He knew was was acting witchy, but contributed it to the fact that I also had PMS-AF came 01/01... Thinking back, I was like that almost the entire month (AF lasted three weeks that month!) It was definately hormonal. More guilt than anything else.

Re: BF and PPD ?

Thanks everyone, I feel I need to call the Doctor about how I'm feeling lately, I suffer from VERY bad PMS, and its starting to effect everyone around me. I feel I'm always on edge all the time, emotional, and stressed out! I know it has a lot to do with my hormones, but I just cant feel this way everytime I'm due with my period, its not fair to me or anyone else, but I also dont want to be dependent on medication.
