BF/Pumping Question - would you cut out a session?

I currently pump 5x/day on the days I work. As of next week I'll be back to FT Chat Icon

I'm not sure I can continue with this pumping/nursing schedule - I'm tired!

Right now on days I work -
Get up 6:45AM - Pump (12-15oz)
7:30AM - Nurse
10:30AM - Pump (6oz)
1:30PM - Pump (6oz)
5PM - Pump (6oz)
7:30PM - Nurse
8:30PM - Nurse (just a couple of minute before he goes to bed)
10PM - Pump (5 oz if I'm lucky)

3:30AM - Nurse
Chat Icon

I will start bringing Ryan to daycare next week - we'll leave the house by 8, if not earlier. I need to cut SOMETHING out, but can't decide when is best.
WWYD?
P.S. right now my stash is good - about 500oz in the freezer

Re: BF/Pumping Question - would you cut out a session?

How much does he drink per day?
Are you pumping only when he takes a bottle? I'd cut out any that don't match a feeding.

Is he drinking exactly what you pump or are you still adding to your stash?

Re: BF/Pumping Question - would you cut out a session?

I would cut the 7:30 PM....

then feed him only to get him to sleep...then hopefully at the 10 PM you have some more to pump then what you are getting now.

ETA: nevermind, thought he was nursing at 5...I would cut out the 5:00 pumping session or the 10 PM pumping session...

Problem is this is when I get home from work and he's looking to nurse.

gotcha...nurse when you get home...I would cut out 5 pm pumping or 10 pm pumping(if you aren't getting much at 10, that would be the one I get rid of)

We're playing with that now b/c he seems to be taking less now that we started veggies.

He seems to nurse 3-4x day and take anywhere from 20-24 oz pumped milk a day (4 feedings).

I'm getting about 35oz day from pumping -so more than he needs, but I get so nervous to cut it out thinking my supply will start to dwindle or I'll need that stash.

this is the one I was considering (10PM) since I am freaking exhausted by that point. but it seems to be crazy at work lately and a little stressful to pump 3x day here. Will I screw up my supply if I alternative? Say if I can't get that 5PM session in, do the 10PM - and if I can get it in, skip the 10PM? KWIM?

I'd say cut out the 5pm pumping also. Also 500 oz. is HUGE, you must have a huge freezer Chat Icon How many months is he?

We have an extra fridge in the garage that we had to plug in just for this - our kitchen freezer had no room for food for US Chat Icon
He's 5.5 months.

I would cut out the 10pm session first & see how it goes supply wise. It sounds like you will be fine though. GL!

I only pump when my DS normally would eat. Right now he nurses twice a day and takes two bottles so I only pump twice a day.
