BFing babies with soy allergies..
Do you guys really have no soy at all?
I don't have any, DH can't imagine that the soy lechtin at the bottom of ingredient list makes that much of a difference in the BM.
I am so tired of the word food. I am so tired of eating. The dairy, fine..I gave it up. This soy is a killer. 3 months into it now and I have to say, its so hard! Going out to eat is impossible. Giving up soy makes giving up alcohol seem like a walk in the park.
I made the worst carrot cake this morning. Its barely edible..but its being eaten since I don't care what I eat anymore as long as its something different.

I had to give up dairy for Ds and I can't imagine how hard it must be to give up soy too.

I am under the impression that soy oil and lechiten are ok, as well, HOWEVER, soy lechiten isn't good for you, anyway, so not eating it at all could be a good thing. I promise you there are products out there! Let me see if I can compile a list for you. You are my hero, though. Let me tell you that. You are doing exaclty what I would have to have done to continue to BF, but because my PPD was so bad, I just couldn't handle it mentally. So, I admire you, greatly!

Re: BFing babies with soy allergies..
Rachel, those words coming from you, mean the world to me. There is NO WAY anyone with PPD could do this. I don't see how I could do this if I worked either. I don't see how I can do this tomorrow actually! Its just day by day.
The list would be so great!
His dr is only semi helpful. My big fear is that I am letting something slide in there and he is getting permanent intestinal damage. The dr still tells me to BF, but I wonder why we haven't been asked to give a recent stool sample.
You are right about the soy not being good. Now that I am a constant label reader, I can't believe how much soy we eat daily. So now I bake from scratch and cook, its a good habit to get into.

Re: BFing babies with soy allergies..
I think I am going to buy this book
website for book
reading the author's story is fueling me to fight with my husband when he gets home from work.
He is such a hard worker and does a ton around the house, he has grown to gain a special relationship with Josh were they really enjoy just looking at each other. He is a wonderful man....HOWEVER-I don't understand his lack of support with this! He runs a steakhouse 6 days a week...he can eat anything! I don't understand the need for ice cream or cheese in the house..calling me and seeing what chinese food I want!

I'm sorry you are going through this. I really admire that you are sticking with it!
I think that Leo just doesn't UNDERSTAND. I think most men don't understand. It's not that he doesn't support you, he just doesn't realize how difficult it is for you to give all of this up...or to find food that you CAN eat.
I know that whenever I diet, DH brings home cookies and cakes for himself and I say it's not right and he goes "well, I don't eat it in front of you" NO, but it's still in the house.
Men's minds don't work the same as ours do...correctly, that is
