BFing moms who pump..
Do you find that you get more milk out of one side? I get twice as much out of my left side than I do on my right.
Just wondering if anyone else experiences this.
One more question: what happens if you are unable to pump as much as DC needs to have in a bottle? Do you start supplementing with formula?

it is very normal to have one breast produce more milk than the other...my lactation consultant told me this.

my left usually produces more than my right, but sometimes it randomly reverses.
ds takes 4 oz at a feeding, and that is usually how much i am able to pump. if i pump less and i need the feeding right away, i make up the rest in formula. i don't know what will happen when ds requires more - hopefully my supply will increase to accommodate that...
ETA: to clarify- i only pump 4oz if i am pumping in place of a feedig. ifi am pumping afterwards i get 1-2 ounces only, and it takes several sessions fir me to pump 1 feeding.

So far mine go back and forth. I guess it depends on which side they get the most from when BFing. Or it could be that one side just needs to catch up to the other. I NEVER get the same amount from both sides.

Thank goodness im not the only one... My left breast i get double the amt, i thought i was doing something wrong.
If I dont have enough BM and dd wants more, than i give her formula, no choice, Dont want her to be hungary. I try not too, but what can you do.

I'm the opposite, my right gives slightly more than my left. There used to be a drastic difference but it caught up a little.
We give DD 3 oz. of formula after her last feeding at night so she sleeps a little longer and because she always seems really hungry at that feeding.

My left produces more and coincidentally is bigger. Last night I pumped 5 oz. from the left and 2 from the right. I was able to make 2 3 1/2 oz. bottles.

My right boob gives me 5-6oz per pumping session and my left usually 3-4oz...I pump every 4 hours.
