I do have a question...how do you think a different administration would have prevented inflation? What would have been done differently?
Aren’t you in finance? This is absolutely terrifying you don’t know the answer if that is the case.
Biden dumped a money into an economy that didn’t need it. He was ultimately paying healthy, able-bodied people to stay home loooong after Covid was over. Unnecessary stimulus checks were a way to buy votes. And putting too much $$$ into an already functioning economy causes the economy to overheat and inflation occurs.
And to all those saying “well inflation is a global issue blah blah blah…”. Yeah, kinda. But the US has the currency that everything is tied to so if inflation occurs here it will likely occur everywhere at varying rates. Hence, global inflation. And you don’t take a well-performing economy and print MORE money-that’s insane. So-to answer your question—a different administration would have encouraged people to RETURN to work to earn their paycheck instead of padding wallets and making people more dependent on government.

I probably won't vote but if someone put a gun to my head I would never vote for Trump.
I find it odd that all these people who hate illegals coming in and so patriotic, let what Trump did on 1/6 sly & turn a blind eye. That was the last straw for me. He is only pro-trump even if it means shitting all over anyone, anything or an entire country.
I want to add that if we are talking about the migrants being moved within the country - they are not "illegals" as they are within the US seeking asylum. They are in the country LEGALLY. Until Jan. 2023, the only avenue to seek asylum was to come to a port of entry and be in US soil. Title 42 is the reason that the camps were set up at our southern border. Immigration is not bad for a developed nation. The migrants become part of the work force. They will pay taxes on income, on goods, on shelter, etc. The US needs migrant labor. Almost 50% of the tomatoes in the US come from FL. Without migrant labor to pick those crops - what do you think is going to happen to the price of tomatoes? No one wants to work - lots of small employers are having trouble finding workers. Who do you think works these jobs? You all - used broadly - are okay when they are washing dishes in the restaurant or picking cucumbers or mowing your lawn or cleaning your hotel room. As some migrants coming over and committing crimes and that is a concern but it's a small % of those coming across. There is also nothing wrong with migrants wanting to live where they work.
THANK YOU!!

When is the last time you went for a job? So many want to work and so many disrespectful employers out there who blow people off. I also spoke to a woman whose husband owned a business and had no interest in hiring but interviewed people just to get the Covid money they provided. It is quite sad.

No, I am retired. Finance is multi-faceted with lots of specialties as well. It's really more of an economist that looks at inflation and money supply, etc. Fiscal and monetary policy. Macro and micro economics. Even currency has subset specialties dealing with swaps, exchange rates and trade balances. Just because you think you know the entire cause and answer does not make it true or complete nor discount other theories and thoughts such as you, who tried to insult me with your opening line. This is the reason I stepped away previously.
When was the pandemic with CoVid over? So you believe the ARA was frivolous? How do you think the Jobs Act effected inflation? When did you see your home price rising? 2020 was not a well performing economy. Who received stimulus checks? There was an income cap...do you think those. $150K as HoH is not that much of an income that an additional stimulus check is going to drive inflation up over the same period of time we are talking about, I think the PPP loans and the forgiveness of those loans push more money in to the transactional economy. Do you know what the lead time is for inflation? The inflation indicators are all backward looking. I am not saying that the current administration did it all right of that the Fed made the right moves all the time. There are lots of factors that got us inflation. LOTS. I was just really interested in seeing what actions another administration, which would have been Trump's, may have taken and what the assumed outcome would have been.

I don’t have a business so no clue but this is what I was told. Still…people are desperately looking for jobs. Employers ghost all the time. The way of our world now, only caring about yourself.

Does it matter? I was never an economist. Nor do I have experience in monetary policy making or legislation. I don't work nor want to work for the Treasury.

Told by who? I have said this before.......employers ghosting candidates is NOT something new. My DH and I have job searched numerous times since the early 2000's and have experienced it multiple times. We are not the only ones either. Potential employers do not owe you anything.
What does an employer not telling you that you didnt get the job have to do with the President?

Not talking about an employer not telling you that you didn’t get a job. They don’t have to do that. The ones that string you along and then ghost or the ones who don’t show up for interviews.
I was just replying to the poster saying people don’t want to work.
