Is this the yoga in a very warm room? If it is, I wouldn't do it while pregnant, you don't want to bother your body temp too much while preggo.

I love Bikram! I was taking it until I got my BFP. You are right, you cannot take it preggo because of the heat. Its similar to being in a hot tub. I switched to prenatal yoga. I tried the class with several instructors before finding one where I still felt challenged. Good Luck TTC!

Re: Bikram Yoga and pregnancy

I've taken a few classes and liked it. However, I can't see this possibly being safe while pregrant.

*dehydration
who knows how else it can affect you and/or the baby.

Ask your Doctor to confirm.

Re: Bikram Yoga and pregnancy

No Bikram Yoga during pregnancy. The temperature is too high.

That is the same reason why you need to stay out saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs.

Unfortunately, I must echo the sentiments of the other posters...

Although I LOVE bikram yoga and practice (normally) about 4 to 5 times a week...I had to hang it up when I got my BFP.

I can not WAIT to go back after the baby though and really do miss it terribly!

I loved Bikram Yoga...
That's a no-go during pregnancy. It raises your body temperture too high.

Re: Bikram Yoga and pregnancy

I agree, no Bikram. I was also taking this and asked my doctor and he said no way.
Totally miss it and can't wait to go back to it.

I agree, and you still have options for exercise while pregnant then you can go back to Bikram later.
