my DD was born 6/27 and I called the town of north hempstead to inquire about her birth certificate, as it has still not arrived. they told me it was mailed but since i havent received it, it must have gotten lost in the mail. they said if i want one now i have to pay for it, otherwise wait til september and call again to see if it was sent back to them, at which point they can resend it. does this sound right to you?? part of me is thinking of calling back and insisting they send me another copy ASAP, since it is not my fault they addressed it incorrectly.
