Birth control

Hi ladies,

I got the okay to start birth control tonight for 10 days. Then I will be starting stims on Feb 23rd. How long are you on the shots for and how how long from Feb 23 would my retrieval date be?? Thank you all!! This will be my first cycle of IVF!


I'm just waiting for pre-authorization to clear that IVF is covered. Even though it says it in our plan you need to get authorization first. But it's so nerve racking, it can take up to 15 days to clear and my doctor won't let me start meds if it's not cleared but I'm sure it will just a matter of time and waiting..

Exciting!!

Stimming can last from 8-12 days depending on how you respond to the meds. I had 10 days of injections and then the trigger shot the next night, retrieval 2 days later (36 hours after trigger).

Good luck with the approval - hopefully it will come through fast!

Thank you! That was a big help now I can hopefully figure out a time frame a little before this process starts!

Personally I stimmed for 9 days, the next day was the trigger, 2 days later was retrieval. So day 1 fell on a Monday. My trigger was on Wednesday of the following week. Retrieval was Friday.

the first time I think I triggered on the nite of the 11th day of injections.

the 2nd cycle I think it was 12 days.
im not a great responder..lol.

retrieval is 36 hrs from when you do the final trigger shot of HCG.

You will do BCP for 10 days. Then 4 days off. youll get AF around that time. It will be light, but don't fret. You'll stim for 3 days and return day 4 for blood and sono. You'll stim for another 2 days and go in for blood and sono again. After that it depends on how you're responding, but you will likely go 2 days later and then once your lead follicle gets to be around 16mm you'll go in every morning for blood and sono. I did stims for 11 days, trigger day 12 and retrieval day 14.
Get our your fat pants because there is a chance you might end up needing them toward the end.
