Birth, Lamaze or whatever the heck they are called these days
I'm at the end of week 31 and I've yet to look into this.
Where should I go? The problem is Dh and I don't have a lot of time on the weekdays to take them. Is there a place we can go on the weekends to bang it out.
Oh I plan on BF. Should I take a class for that too?
We are in Levittown
TIA

Are you interested in trying for a natural birth? If so - I would recommend a Bradley class, I found it helpful and the class we took was on Sunday evenings in Roslyn.

Re: Birth, Lamaze or whatever the heck they are called these days
I took a Lamaze class that lasted 4 weeks at my Doctors office. Honestly, it was a total waste. I've heard people really recommend the classes at New Baby Belly in Massapequa.
I EBF for 13 months. I didn't take a class, but my mom is a retired lac consultant/nicu nurse, so I had her as support. That said breastfeeding is one of the hardest things, but I'm not sure any class could prepare you.

We were wondering this too, if the Baby Basics, CPR and BF classes would be enough...but I'm told the nurses tell you what to do and help so it's not totally necessary. But I'm kind of curious to know ALL of the scenarios so I can weigh options when the labor comes. I'm not so interested in breathing techniques, but learning how to alleviate early labor pain might be helpful. I'm no help..sorry!!

Is that the Bradley class with Celeste Rachell? She is AWESOME. Highly recommended.
eta: even if you think you want drugs, a Bradley class is totally worth taking IMO. Lots of great info.

Yes - I loved her!! So helpful! I agree that it would still be worthwhile even if you want meds, but she is very opinionated.

I'm going to take Labor & Delivery (next week) and if I feel up to it b-feeding and infant care...those clasees are in late July. Huntington Hospital where I am delivering offers them for free. Good luck
