birthday parties and preschool
my son is in a 3 yr old class 2x a week. There are 21 kids in the class. What do you do in regards to inviting kids from the class. There are a few kids that he talks about all the time, including one little girl. Do I just invite these kids? Can I only invite one girl, or would the parents think that was weird? (there would be other girls there, just not from his class). Or should I just invite everyone from his class? When we were going over people to invite, he said, Just invite everyone Ma, they are all my friends!
We are going to have it at Pump it Up i think.

DS is in daycare pre-k room. 19 kids. They all invite the whole class to their parties. We've gone to SO many! We just has DS's 4th birthday party at Pump It Up on Sunday and invited the whole class. 13 came, 5 couldn't make it. I wouldn't want anyone to feel left out.
P.S. Pump It Up is AWESOME and does a fantastic party!!

Re: birthday parties and preschool
My dd's pre-school has a rule, either you invite everyone from the class or you could invite just the girls or just the boys. Depending on if you have a girl or boy. But you cannot invite a select few. I agree with this, however I did find out that some mothers have been inviting certain children by giving the invitations to the mothers directly. My daughter was actually one of the children that were left out once and she was really hurt by it. All of the other kids talk about it in class so the kids will know they weren't invited.

That's good to hear. Which one did you go to? Also, what did you do about food for parents? Can you bring anything in from the outside?

Re: birthday parties and preschool
21 is a lot of kids!!!
It would be nice to invite them all, buts that's going to add up $$$... if money is an issue do just boys.

Re: birthday parties and preschool
My ds is only 2 and goes to school 1 day a week, unfortnately i will not be inviting all the kids...first off, its just too many kids and too much money...i also have to invite friends and family. Also, there happens to be a boy that my ds isn't fond of. A lot of the other kids have mentioned things to their parents about this particular boy too. I may be mean, but i don't want to upset my ds by having this boy at his birthday party. And lastly, my DS won't be going to school with any of these kids next year once he starts nursury, so at this age i see nothing wrong with just inviting the kids that he talks about all the time. JMO.

Re: birthday parties and preschool
I'm in the same exact situation, and I'm having DD's party at PIU as well. After I made the list of her cousins and my friends kids that she plays with all the time, I decided I'm probably not inviting anyone from the class. The party only includes 12 kids, so to do a whole class will be $$$. If anything, I MIGHT do just girls, but at this point I'm leaning towards no. Although today DD asked if certain kids were coming to her bday, so now I feel bad!

Re: birthday parties and preschool
DD has 18 kids in her 3 year class (kids in the class are turning 4). In her class this year this is what the parents have done. Either invited the entire class (DD is going to a party at Pump it up actually soon and the whole class is invited), OR people have invited just the girls or just the boys. I would say about 50% invited the whole class and the other half just one gender.
etd to add - we are doing DD's 4th birthday at Nunley's carousel - it includes 25 children so I am inviting her whole class.

Yes, you can only bring cake in from the outside. We loved it so much we had DS's party there two years in a row. First year we ordered pizza and soda through them for the adults. This year we had 9:30 a.m. party so we ordered bagels and coffee through them for adults.
