Birthday party dilemma

DS has been invited to a party next weekend at a VFW. There will be a DJ. Turns out the party is also for the boy's sister, whom we have never met. Do I need to spend a money on 2 separate gifts? I usually spend about $25 on a gift. I was thinking of giving them around $35 to use for the both of them at an ice cream shop they like to go to. Is that reasonable?

That’s more than enough. What does having a dj have to do with it? LOL If I only know the one child, that’s probably all I’d buy for. Otherwise, kids are getting double the gifts that they normally would’ve had.

No. One gift is plenty for the child you know.

No, just a gift for the child your son is friends with.

Yes, just give a gift to the one kid, especially if the invite had only one name on it. They probably did separate invites specifically for that reason -- they didn't want their guests giving two gifts.

You only have to give one gift for the kid you were invite for. However, I would give a gift separate gift like GC to the sister just because I would want to get her a little something.

Re: Birthday party dilemma

1 gift for your DS's friend is perfect. I'm sure his friend's sister is inviting her friends who may not know her brother.
You were invited for him. Her friends will give her gifts as well and the friends who know both will give to both. I'm sure the parents thought it through where they will get equal amounts of gifts from their friends.

ETA - DS was invited to a friend's party at a trampoline place a couple of years ago. I didn't know it was a party for his sister as well bc the invite was only for him. At the place there was 2 different tables and his friends sat at the Roblox themed table and her friends sat at the dolphins or ocean themed table and gave separate favors as well.
