I work and sometimes don't get home until after 6pm so the first option wouldn't work for me.

6pm. If I had to work, I would send her with someone else, or decline. Not a fan of the middle of the day on a Sunday. But do what works for YOU :)

But if I could, and DS wanted to go, I would either have my boyfriend take him or I would try to leave a touch early.

ETA: Is it a drop off party?

It's either. They are old enough where parents can leave if they want to.
