Birthday Party tipping question
Hi, We are having our first ever out of the house party this Saturday. It is at a Sportime Gym (Quogue location.) I think there will be 2 coaches working with 12 3,4,5 year olds for 1 hour of soccer, obstacle courses, etc. What would you tip each coach? The party before any additions is $350. Thanks!

Re: Birthday Party tipping question
I never realized we were suppose to tip people at the parties. I never did except for lar year when I had it at CPK. I figure the oerson running it was making the waiter salary which is nothing.
That said if I did tip in wouldnt do more than $20

Re: Birthday Party tipping question
I used to do children's bday parties 20 years ago. IIRC, the hosts/hostesses get minimum wage, not server wage. I'd ask the place if there is any of that included. Twenty years ago $20 was a VERY good tip, so $20 sounds reasonable nowadays.

I wouldn't either, but our contract says gratuity not included, so they must be expected.

Thank you for your responses. I usually tip the normal, but my husband way overtips, so I will show him this.

This. I especially appreciate it when they serve food (pizza, cake, etc) to the parents and help with taking gifts to load into the car. It's a big help.

Re: Birthday Party tipping question
I do 20 per helper, and sometimes I have given 40 to the lead when they have gone above and beyond.

Birthday Party tipping question
I used to do children's birthday parties. Tips were anywhere between $10-$100. The higher end were from kids who attended my classes. Families who were just there for birthday parties usually tipped in the $10-$20 range.
